Pretty day...so far, it's only 8:36 am, we'll see if it lasts...
1. The universe decided to give me a lovely day as a birthday gift. In the 50s, crystal blue sky...and lots of sun. Now if it could have just convinced Congress to wait two more weekends before beginning Daylight Savings Time. Although on the plus side, I suppose the fact that they moved it to the weekend of my birthday makes it a whole lot easier for me to remember? Right?
Been a difficult week. But back is much better. Massage - at 11. It better be at a 11, they haven't called to reconfirm and they usually do. I may call soon. Am on the fence about making self cup-cakes. After reading a post on my flist about the pitfalls of sugar and how it causes Alztheimers...I thinking, maybe not.
2. Day 21 – Favorite book from your childhood
Depends on how old I was at the time, also define childhood? I adored the following books:
1. The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin
2. Bridge to Terribetha by Katherine Patterson
3. Watership Down by Adams
4. Escape to Witch Mountain
5. The Hobbit by JRR Tolkien
I honestly can't pick one. Had several. I devoured books as a kid. Favorite series was The Nancy Drew Mysteries - which were great for beginning readers - I devoured them. Also devoured all the Judy Blume books - Hi God, It's Me Margaret and Blubber - and the SE Hinton novels which Francis Ford Coppola decided to turn into movies when I was a teenager, starring Matt Dillon. Turning me briefly into a Matt Dillon fan.
Day 22 – Favorite book you own
Day 23 – A book you wanted to read for a long time but still haven’t
Day 24 – A book that you wish more people have read
Day 25 – A character who you can relate to the most
Day 26 – A book that changed your opinion about something
Day 27 – The most surprising plot twist or ending
Day 28 – Favorite title
Day 29 – A book everyone hated but you liked
Day 30 – Your favorite book of all time
3. TV MEME: Day 24 - Best quote
I don't really have a good verbal memory - so remembering quotes, lyrics, stuff like that tends to be lost on me. Once again, memorable meme more than favorite or best.
* Bored now - is probably my favorite. Love that line. It's succinct. Whedon is very good at writing succinct dialogue.
* I'm paralyzed with not caring very much - also succinct.
* I may be love's bitch, but at least I'm man enough to admit it.
* If it's the Apocalypse? Beep Me.
* Fire Bad, Tree Pretty.
* I'm going to be a fireman when the floods roll back. (Nice - because firemen put out fires with water...always loved the ironic twist of that quote).
* If my heart could beat, it would break my chest. (that makes me laugh just thinking about it.) But I can see you're unimpressed.
I don't know why the only quotes I remember are Buffy quotes.
Day 25 - A show you plan on watching (old or new)
Day 26 - OMG WTF? Season finale
Day 27 - Best pilot episode
Day 28 - First TV show obsession
Day 29 - Current TV show obsession
Day 30 - Saddest character death.
