No. No real life tragedies, no great losses. I mean, I lost my aunt a few years ago - who sort of filled a grandmotherly role - but she was old, and it wasn't unexpected.
Basically I can't explain it, except acknowledge that it happened, and that no matter that the character was only fictional, my emotions were real. And that it the same for so many people that it has reverberated out into the real world, with the memorial etc.
