OUAT - Episode Quite a Common Fairy

* Tinkerbell has the worst outfit (although pre-evil queen Regina's isn't much better). Why do only evil characters get the cool outfits? Also the Blue Fairy is a wee bit rigid regarding her rules.

* Tinkerbell's back story is really all about Regina. I'm not sure it worked for me, but Regina's back story seldom works for me. Tink found her soulmate, but Regina couldn't move on and was too scared to turn her back on her rage which fueled her power - so missed out.
However, she appears to have learned something from her mistakes.

What interested me was Regina attempts to commit suicide when she meets with Tinkerbell. The first time she jumps from her balcony and Tink stops her. The second time, she pulls out her heart and hands it to Tink. But the second time wasn't really suicide so much as a challenge.
She told Tink that if you kill me you've made my same mistakes. I put revenge above everything and look at my heart - it's hard and black, do you want the same? I want tell you what to do, the choice is yours. (It's the opposite of Rumplestilskin's pep talks).

Also belief seems to be important and central to the story here. Belief in love, oneself, in others. The Blue Fairy stopped believing in Tinkerbell and she lost her wings. She has no magic unless someone believes in her. And Pan wants Henry because he's the truest believer and destined to restore magic back to the world - Neverland runs on magic and imagination.
Without they are doomed. In short Pan and Tinkerbell are the opposite of last year's villains, who wanted to remove magic from the world. Ironic that Pan manipulated last year's villains...

* Apparently Regina's soulmate with the lion tattoo is none other than Robin Hood. (Interesting). And her inability to meet him - ruined both their lives, which is why Tink sees it as selfish. (I don't know if Robin would agree with that - he loved Marilyn and has a kid named Roland.) Poor Regina seems destined to shoot herself in the foot. I'm beginning to like the character quite a bit. When she's not playing the EVIIIL QUEEN, the actress is actually really good.

* Regina has noticed the romantic vibe between Hook and Emma - and calls Hook, Emma's boyfriend, much to Snow and Emma's chagrin. They remind her that Emma just lost Neil. (See that wasn't my imagine - they are definitely going with a Hook/Emma vibe..because you know, the drama!)

* Meanwhile in FTL - Robin Hood and Mulan help Neal find a way back to Neverland. Neal uses Robin's kid to summon Pan's shadow and hitches a ride. Clever. That never occurred to me. This show continues to surprise me.

And Robin asks Mulan to join his merry men after she rescues his son Roland from the shadow.
(Also Little John looks a lot like Tiny the Giant.)

What interested me is the person Mulan has been mooning over and feels she needs to tell how much she loves and hasn't found the courage to do so is not Phillip but Aurora. Nice twist.
But I thought she loved Phillip prior to waking Aurora? I don't know, as much as I like this twist, and I do, it makes Mulan seem terribly fickle. That said - Jamie Chung played her love for Aurora better than she did for Phillip and she and Aurora had more chemistry.

Since Aurora is expecting a baby with Prince Phillip (who didn't even get a cameo this round), Mulan took Robin up on his offer. (I still think Mulan is perfect for Hook.)

* Meanwhile - Baelfire/Neal finally landed in Neverland. I'm very happy about this - means some Rumple and Baelfire scenes, which are long overdue. They have a similar goal this time.

* Little worried about Charming...please don't kill him off. I don't believe they will. I think the leads are pretty much safe. But considering they wanted to kill him off in the first season, one never knows.

Oh, I forgot about that - or didn't notice it. Good one.
