Hrm, did you download 1.3.3.2? No computer whiz myself so asking stupid questions -- did you get a zip version? I think I got a zip version, which I had to extract. Then I just double-clicked on the .exe file and it installed. Then hopefully it should be on the Start Menu... From memory, I don't think it automatically starts up after installation...
And not quite sure how to design the journal around it? I think mostly it's just so you can make posts from your computer instead of from the LJ website, but if you want to rehaul your journal site design, you'll probably have to play with the new S2 style or diddle around with that type of thing...
