Is anyone still reading the Buffy and Angel comics out there? Because I followed an odd link - that contained an interview with Nicholas Brendan (played Xander in the series), stating how he will be writing and show-running Season 10?? Also, that Giles has been brought back to life as a...kid???

Will state I was intrigued that he pitched a Spike & Xander pairing or team up. (Keep in mind Brendan was friends with Marsters.)

Apparently, Giles is now 12 years old in the comics. I suppose they felt they needed a character their target audience could identify with. ;)

Yes, basically they did the spell or whatever it was (I'm starting to forget the main things here) and he came back but as a twelve years old who totally looks like a little William (but maybe that's just me)

I think I'll probably read S10 when is out, just out of curiosity but without really spending too much time with it. I didn't know about Brendon's involvement, for example.

Yep, I've been reading them all along. The Angel & Faith title turned out to have a far happier fan base than the Buffy title, which is probably because A&F was really well drawn and had respectable writing work. Buffy? Meh, not bad, not great, had its moments.

The Giles resurrection twist was risky from a writing standpoint, but personally I think they pulled it off fairly cleverly. Giles is physically 12 again, but he has the mind of the old Giles, in terms of both memory and functionality.

I'm not 100% certain of this, but if I understand correctly, the A&F team has now been promoted to helming Buffy Season 10. Season 10 starts in just a few weeks. Not sure who will be doing A&F.

Brendan is not a Season 10 showrunner, he'll be co-writing a few issues, I believe, that's all.

NB isn't show running S10. He's co-writing 3 issues with Christos Gage and hopes to stick around to contribute more. He'll be writing an arc about Xander and Spike sharing a house together after the developments of last season. From what I've gathered, they plan to have Xander and Spike develop some form of friendship after Spike stuck by Dawn's side during her illness in S9.

And yep Giles is a kid. Angel and Faith tried to resurrect Giles, it went badly, and Giles was brought back as a child instead. I wish he had stayed dead (nothing personal against Giles I just prefer it when some major deaths stick)but admittedly it does have potential. Depends on how they handle it going forward but I am looking forward to seeing Buffy's reaction to him.

So the interview isn't quite that accurate?

Does make sense that Gage has been promoted to Buffy S10 along with the artist - since the fan base was happier with it.

Haven't read either. Not my cup of tea, so to speak.

Those are actually interesting developments. Have to admit I'm intrigued by NB writing the Xander and Spike arc. That's an interesting pairing. Also Spike sticking by Dawn's side during her illness sounds interesting.

Giles as a kid - with Buffy and Xander and Willow struggling to deal with does have some potential.

Agreed on the death bit. If you don't make major deaths stick...the reader stops worrying about characters dying.
