Somewhat bored with the current book that I'm reading, need to find a new one. Although feel oddly compelled to finish. Oh well, may put me to sleep tonight. Am tired.

Forget GRRM's Game of Thrones series of books, I want to go to his movie theater, the Jean Cocteau Cinema in Santa Fe, New Mexico - that features cocktails, and has visiting screen-writers such as Denis Lehane, and recently the writer of LadyHawk - along with a showing of the film. Martin has managed to put new life into going to the cinema.

Odd, for the first time in years none of the new tv series are sparking an interest.
Is this possible? Is the tv slut losing interest in television? Say it's not so?
Apparently it is. Even the returning series...have me sort of shrugging with little enthusiasm. MASTERS OF SEX - S1 Discs, courtesy of netflix, has sat on my tv stand for a month.

Any new tv shows that you recommend or are looking forward to? Note - "new" - not currently on or well into their third season.

The first of the Four Soliders one?

Yep that's the one. The characters are a bit on the weak side - it's an American Tracker who runs to deal with pain (which could be interesting but he's not developed that well somehow) and an British aristocratic. There's a reason they are MIA in the next few books...

I may just be tired of the genre. Although Hoyt is hit or miss. The only one of her's that I liked so far is "To Seduce a Sinner". Couldn't get through Scandalous Desires or was it Notorious Desires (the second book in the Maiden Lane series). I've read the one's you wisely skipped. LOL!

I'm going to try "Masters of Sex" tonight - will let you know. But from what I've read of it to date - it doesn't sound all that interesting. Which may explain why I've put off watching it. Took me a long time to get into Mad Men. And Breaking Bad. And the Sopranos.[For more or less the same reasons - yeah, yeah, they are brilliantly written - but they are stories about sociopaths, narcissists, and overall nasty self-absorbed people.]

Curious about Outlander. I did not like the book. But the tv show may be an improvement? Don't have Starz though and seems rather silly to subscribe to it just for Outlander. I finally let go of HBO, because it felt rather silly to subscribe just for Game of Thrones. (I can rent both on Netflix.)

May eventually go streaming...although I'm told you can't get those shows until they are out on DVD if you stream.
