Took today off, in part because we get tomorrow off as one of our 12 paid holidays. Weird, we get election day off but not Veterans Day. Government paid holidays are weird.

Dead tired, because I stayed up too late watching the baseball game then had difficulty sleeping. (Probably diet related, it's always diet related. If I've had any sugar or caffeine during the day that will screw up my sleep, so too will the switch from daylight savings time to standard time.)

Been watching television off and on this weekend. Can't really do more than a couple of hours in a row any longer, without my attention beginning to drift elsewhere. The days of day-long television binge watching appear to be over.

1. Quantico - decent thriller, but trying to be two things at once, which is a bit jarring. It want's to Grey's Anatomy at Quantico and well either How to Get Away with Murder or Covert Affairs at the same time. Not sure the two mix well. And it's taking them forever to provide crucial information.
These sort of thrillers work better as movies than television serials, mainly because after a while the audience gets frustrated watching the protagonist run from the authorities.

That said, I adore the lead. And the team-up of various characters to help her find the culprit is intriguing. Particularly when you think they may have framed her at any point in the proceedings.
So, I'm sticking with it for now.

2. Good Wife continues to be interesting. Lots of psychological manipulation and power plays.
Also it reminds me of why I'm not a practicing attorney. Of the legal series that I've seen to date, it's by far the most realistic not to mention fun.

Really like the three new cast members, Quinn Luka and Jason Krause. Don't miss Kalinda or Will Gardner at all.

3. OUAT --

not quite sure where they are going with Emma or what her motivation is exactly.
She's sort of the new Rumplestilskin, except Rumple's motivation was a tad clearer. Dark Emma's is about as clear as mud. Also, she's not as fun a villain as Rumplestilskin ---actually no one is.

Did however find a way to get Rumple his groove back. Now he's a hero and motivated. No longer cowering and weak in a corner. Also Rumple knows a lot of crap - he's over 1000 years old, with a ton of magical knowledge. I think, he's right when he said the Dark One miscalculated in turning him into a hero - as a means to an end. That could back-fire, for a couple of reasons -- Rumple knows Emma, and the Dark One. And if he's truly a hero - he may actually help our heroes defeat the dark one and get Emma back.

Except I'm not sure getting Emma back will be so easy. They might forgive Emma, but will she forgive herself?

At any rate, it seems Rumple and Emma have switched places. He's the savior and she's the villain. And we appear to finally be getting the Rumplestilskin redemption arc. Assuming he doesn't fall back into his old pattern of - not my problem, going off to play house with Belle, you take care of it.

I rather like Merida. Belle annoys me, I think it's the actress. Not sure. She's admittedly better this season than the last three, so progress.

Henry is becoming a better actor - the older he gets. At least they are letting him age - sort of had too, considering.

Struggling a little bit with the storyline. What Emma did with Violet last week sort of pales in comparison to all of the things that Hook, Regina and Rumplestilskin have done. I'm sorry, it does. So far she hasn't killed anyone. It's forgivable. Violet was okay. Henry survived and got to date Violet. No lasting harm done. Of course, I'm sure she's done far worse. I have a feeling attempting to fix Excalibre sent her careening over the edge into darkness.

I was thinking of joining the nanowritemore group this year - but I can't figure out how to do it or what's involved. Also, I don't really need help writing. I don't get writer's blocks, I get story blocks. My characters stop talking to me. And I have to push through and then back track. Plus find the time to do it and the energy...which isn't really a problem, as long as I don't get distracted. (The internet is distracting.)

Okay off to bed. Or rather a bath. Then bed.
