So, in the space of 24 hours, we've had David Bowie (age 69) and Alan Rickman (age 69) die of cancer.
Plus a 1.6 billion lottery, the first in history, with everyone buying tickets, and a scattering of winners.

Universe? Are you trying to tell us something?

In other news, I bought David Bowie's new album "Blackstar" at B&N, it was on sale.

I didn't buy it last Friday because I thought I had time...and now it's sold out everywhere here in Paris and also on Amazon fr. so I finally got it on itune...but it isn't the same. I like having CDs.

Really? Wow. There's no problem here.

I usually just get stuff on itunes, but with Bowie's Blackstar, I made an exception. I wanted the CD -- because I wanted the cover art. If I had a record player, I'd have gotten it on vinyl.

And downloaded from itunes "the Best of Bowie - Platium Collection" and "The Rise and Downfall of Ziggy Stardust". Already have Low and Next Day (which I hadn't gotten on CD.)

Needed to cheer myself up.

I think he may be more popular in France than the US? In the 1980s, I barely knew much about him outside of his cover song for Cat People (which is amazing), that is until I went to France one summer. Everyone over there adored him. They introduced me to Bowie in 1984.
