Had a great day today. Wandered across the street in the blizzard to a friend's house to have lunch and see a movie. She's a former actress who receives various promotional copies of films. Today, we watched The Revenant, she also loaned me : Trumbo, The Danish Girl, MacBeth, Mr. Holmes, Suffragette, End of the Tour, Grandma, and Our Brand is Crisis.
As an aside? We've received over 2 Feet of snow so far in New York City. Actually Washington,DC, Philadephia, Baltimore, New Jersey, and NYC have received over 2 feet of snow. The entire area is completely shut down. All trains, buses, and above ground subways. Outside of walking, I can't go anywhere. Good thing I live in a city. They cancelled Broadway Shows and pretty much all activities.
So happy this happened on a Saturday. By the time Monday arrives - we'll be able to go back to work with no problems.
Oh...here's some photos of the storm that ate Mid-Atlantic Cities-
From ABCTVNY - The Naked Cowboy in Times Square Struts his stuff:
Will say this much for the Naked Cowboy - at least he's pretty.
And deer prancing through the empty snow covered streets of downtown Washington, D.C.
It was actually sort of fun trudging across a deserted Ocean Parkway...this is a major four lane street with constant traffic. Nothing compares to a major blizzard in a huge urban area or city, particularly a city like NYC, which is 24/7 and never sleeps. A blizzard will put it to sleep in a jiffy. People were doing snow angels in Times Square. And yes, it's been snowing for close to 24 hours, hence the 2-3 feet of snow.
Nature calms the world for a bit...

This blizzard is apparently no match for the Naked Cowboy! Check out some others who decided to brave the elements...without extra layers: http://7ny.tv/1nrJyZN (Photo: dalton922/Instagram)
