May. 25th, 2016 10:14 pm1. This presidential election from hell is beginning to invade my dreams. Last night I dreamed about Donald Trump. It was a very odd dream. We were sitting on a beach having a friendly conversation. I still don't know what to make of it. Stupid subconscious. Stay out of my dreams, Trump.
2. Oh well, at least Austria's election turned out well. The Nazi didn't win.
3. It's turned unseasonably warm...we had a record high today of 88 degrees. My allergies hit me like a truck. But just the right side of my face for some reason.
4. Tried to send my novel off to my English Lit Prof, who I took various contemporary lit and film analysis course with in undergrad. He's retiring next year. But alas he hadn't given me a street address to send the book to. I'm going to have to look it up.
5. Quantico is a fun thrill ride, with all sorts of interesting subversions of stereotypes. Discovered that the head of ABC network programming is an African American Woman, which actually explains a lot -- like why ABC, of the three broadcast networks is the most ethnically and gender diversified, and also the most innovative. CBS bores me -- how many dyed in wool white macho guy procedurals can we do? I think the only series I watch on it now is The Big Bang Theory, with the Good Wife canceled. NBC is not much better...just slightly. Fox is the only one that comes close to ABC in regards to diversity.
This may explain why almost all of the series I watch on the networks are on ABC, with just a handful on The CW (also owned by CBS, but more diversified for some reason) and occasionally something on Fox.
Everything else is on cable or streaming.
6. I keep noticing that I skip words when I type. It's not deliberate -- it's a typo. And I don't always catch them on the re-write. And sometimes mistype or use the wrong word. Often a word that makes no sense -- also a weird typo and not deliberate. Does this happen to anyone else?

Date: 2016-05-26 09:11 am (UTC)And it seems that Austria is very extreme (as usual) the world seems drift appart as well. i really hope Trump has no chance in hell to actually win over Clinton. Sure i would have hated it, if Austria became another neofascist nation like Hungery or Poland at the moment, but in the grand sceme, Austria cannot do anything. the US on the other hand...

Date: 2016-05-27 02:21 am (UTC)It's like all the evil marketing people in the US got together, found their mascot, Trump who is basically a marketing genius, and went all out to make him President of the US. (If you ever watched The Apprentice - it's a competition between various marketing people on how to promote and market a specific product.) The whole thing reminds me of a Philip K. Dick novel.
That's why I sort of like LJ, it's the only place I can write online that isn't plastered with wall to wall marketing.
This election is all about marketing and people are buying it. I want to shake them. But, alas, there's nothing I can do, but vote against Trump in November, and hope the best. It's sad, really, if I could vote for a candidate that I respected, I'd vote for Jill Stein, the Green Party candidate. But alas, I can't -- I'm going to have to vote for either Hillary or Sanders, just so Trump won't win. I don't really care all that much if its Sanders or Hillary. Sort of leaning towards Hillary, because Sanders reminds me a bit too much of Ralph Nader, Jerry Brown, Rev. Jesse Jackson and a snake oil salesman. Sure he talks a good game, but it's marketing. I don't buy what he says -- there's no evidence he can actually deliver or better still knows how to implement it, and what it costs to do so. Hillary at least has been there, done that, she knows the difficulties regarding implementation. But the evil marketing people are out to get her and they won't stop, both Sanders fans and Trump fans are dumping on Hillary. It's like watching the fando, shipper war from hell, except with much higher stakes. And I've begun to see little difference between Sanders supporters and Trump's supporters on FaceBook and Twitter. Only Hillary's supporters appear to be sane.

Date: 2016-05-27 02:26 am (UTC)(Apparently I do it verbally as well, I've had people stop me, and say..."uh, I think, you meant to say _____."
When I'm convinced that was what I said. It's embarrassing and frustrating at the same time. Also rather amusing.)
