Oct. 2nd, 2016 05:27 pm1. And the crazy American Presidential Election proceeds to get even crazier - Trump rants at a rally after the NY Times releases information on his taxes. In years past, this alone would have ended the candidate's political career.
At this point Trump makes Richard Nixon seem rather normal, sane, and not all that bad.
2. I've watched all the new American shows on regular television as of September 30, not streaming. Can't do both. And streaming is harder for me to watch.
From the streaming side? I rather like Longmire and am meandering my way through S2.
On the broadcast television/cable side:
Worth a view?
* The Exorcist --- creepy psychological thriller. I'd say it's creepier than the original in some respects.
* Van Helsing --- has potential, a dark post-apocalyptic vampire series that has more in common with the Walking Dead than most vampire shows.
* Lethal Weapon --- a bit fun, with good character banter, also the guy playing Riggs is rather compelling.
* Designated Survivor --- not a bad thriller. Still trying to too much at the same time. But continues to be compelling, if a tad predictable in places.
* Speechless -- reminds me a lot of that show called Raising Arizona or something along those lines starring Martha Plimpton. It has it's moments. The pilot was better than the second episode, which went a bit overboard in places.
That's about it at the moment. I'm giving This is Us another week, but it's a bit on the cheesy side, so we'll see. And I'm not sure I'm a fan of Dan Fogelman's writing. Fogelman also did The Pitch, which has some of the same problems, a bit cheesy and sentimental. Jason Katims (Friday Night Lights/Parenthood) he's not.
Cancelled from my DVR or I've given up on?
* The Good Place -- didn't work for me.
* MacGyver -- stupid
* Notorious --- ditto
* Better Things -- I liked the pilot, but...lost track of it
Still up?
Westworld, Aftermath, Timeless, Frequency, No Tomorrow, Falling Water, Luke Cage, Crisis in 6 Scenes,
Divorce, Get it On....
May not get around to all of them.
Hold over's from last year?
* Once upon a Time
* Lucifer
* Grey's Anatomy
* Quantico (maybe)
* Poldark
* Big Bang Theory
What is everyone else watching? Anything interesting that I missed?

Date: 2016-10-03 04:18 am (UTC)As for the elections, there's a reason why even some of the most staunch stalwart republican/conservative newspapers, are refusing to endorse the republican candidate this year.
Some of these papers that have endorsed Hillary, despite the fact that they haven't endorsed a democrat in ever, or at least a hundred years.
