In an incredibly pissy/contrary mood this week, which means I should probably continue to refrain from reading much of the online discussion boards. The job situation, or lack thereof is beginning to eat at my self-esteem again. It's part of what I call the nasty "interview roller-coaster ride". Also the fact, that I'm feeling slightly fatalistic at the moment, wondering if I'll ever get another job and a little afraid if I do, it won't work out.
Added "craig's list" to my favorities list. Unlike my other jobsearch sites - this one doesn't send job postings by email. Most of my email these days is job postings. Go through about 100 a week, or over 2,000 jobs. Apply to 5-10, if I'm lucky, some weeks are slower than others. All feel like longshots. Bloody tired of looking for a job. What do I have to do to get one? Stand on my head? Hope not, considering I can't stand on my head.
Craig's List btw is a nifty little site. It lists every possible thing you could think of hunting for in a city. Apartments. Jobs. Classes. Etc.
Worth a look. A friend of mine found someone teaching Arabic classes on it.
The oscar nominations came out today, apparently.
Interesting list. Once again? Haven't seen most of the movies on the list nor am I particularly interested.
Sort of curious about Mystic River and Lost in Translation though - might rent those. Just to see the performances. Lost interest in the whole Oscar race ever since Titanic won best movie. My guess is Return of the King will get it this year - due to the triology and weak competition. Personally? I'd have nominated American Splendor and Finding Nemo. Also I just don't understand the appeal of Johnny Depp or Pirates of the Caribbean. I'm apparently the only female in the world who doesn't. Far more entertaining to me this morning was the Razzie nominations...yep I said I was in a pissy mood.
