1. Well this is odd, my google chrome extension that is supposed to be turning Trump pictures into kittens on social media sites, is randomly turning pictures of other people into kittens. Such as photos of Buffy cast members and writers in friends recaps of Whedoncon. (ie. Instead of photos of Nick Brendan, David Fury, Tim Minear and Mark Lutz, I've photos of kittens.) While it appears to be leaving Trump alone.

2. Co-worker, DPL, told me today that she thought the world of me, and wanted my help on a huge design/construction project she'd been given. And was going to ask that my boss assign me to help her and supervise her on it. Made my day. Particularly considering the last three weeks.

Same co-worker had read and written a glowing review of my novel.

3. I downloaded the Wonder Woman script by Joss Whedon. More out of curiousity than anything else. It's gotten really bad reviews. People do not like that script. I sort of feel sorry for Whedon. He's gotten a lot of bad press lately. Also how would you feel if a rejected script that you wrote got released to the internet without your permission? (Makes me happy I'm not in that business. You have to have incredibly thick skin.)

OTOH -- he does get to pitch hit for the Justice League Movie and do the film Batgirl.

Is it something about the hair?

Possibly, but Nick Brendon was wearing a hat. So maybe not? It's just really odd.

Has the extension just been updated?

What does it do with a photo of a kitten? because if it turns them into Trump you are in trouble.

So far, it just appears to turn pictures posted of people at Whedoncon into kittens. Which...I'm guessing is a hair thing? Or maybe a wonky extension?

Oh yes, it will just be the wonkiness of the extension. I'd have to look at the code to say for sure and I'm in far too lazy a mood to bother. It probably relies on text more than analysing the pictures, simply because that is so much easier to write.

Thanks for the heads up on the Whedon WW script. I've grabbed it because I think it'll be an interesting comparison. Also, while there's a lot of Whedon's recent writing I disagree with, the structure of his work is usually solid. (Seriously, the final battle sequence in The Avengers is a three-act set-piece all on it's own, which is why it works, I think.)

Apparently they did some script table readings at the most recent con.

I think Whedon's dialogue is about the best in the business. He's able to differentiate between the characters, and provide humor. Along with creating phrases and slang specific to those characters.

Also, you're right structurally speaking, his work is fairly solid, at least within the framework of an arc or an episode. I just think that sometimes he gets a bit "ambitious" and "overshoots" the mark, but that's true of a lot of people in that industry. (shrugs) And sometimes, in regards to series plotting he gets a bit messy in places, but overall, he's actually pretty solid. Buffy was a solid piece of work in comparison to some other series I've watched.

Congrats on the work invite, that sounds promising. And I did get to read it yesterday, will post about it later today.
