Should just go to bed but...hmm..read these bits reading list:

1. Rebel Seoul by Axi Oh - is basically a sci-fi novel about girls who have been weaponized and operate robots. In short the writer combined Sailor Moon with Gundam Wing. (I vaguely remember both. I, ahem, went on an anime binge back in the 1990s when they were hard to get a hold of. People are spoiled now with Netflix and Disney and other venues. But back in the 1980s-90s, you had to look for them. Often in cult video stores (aka not Blockbusters) and on pirated VHS. So I was devoted...because I managed to find them comic book stores (which had them) and hole in the wall video stores. So I've seen Lupin, Gundam Wing, Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Vampire Hunter D, Sailor Moon, Battle of the Planets (which I loved), among many others that I can't remember. I also read Magna back then, which was also difficult to come by. So not that many.)

Anyhow this looks interesting. I may have to get it. I'm thinking I may need to switch from the romance genre to sci-fi soon. I'm getting bit irritated by the romance genre. (Although I probably should have thought of that before I went on a couple of book buying sprees a while back -- smartbitches had these .99 cent - 2.99 deals they were posting...and well...)

2. Discovery of Witches Television Show casts Game of Thrones and Sherlock stars -- so, hmmm, they are adapting Discovery of Witches as a television series? I admittedly couldn't get into the books. But the series idea sounds intriguing.

3. Television shows?

Teen Wolf? Would someone over the age of 45 enjoy this? Is it like Vamp Diaries or...more like
Shadowhunters? I liked Vamp Diaries, Shadowhunters got on my nerves and I gave up after episode one. Is this on Netflix? Or Streaming?

Killjoys? Is this on Netflix? Or Streaming? How many seasons?

Any others???

teeen wolf is ok, but you really missed out with Shadowhunters. I get not liking the first few eps of that show, but it really got a lot better as the season continued on. (for one thing, the young male actors finally learned how to act.)

Teen Wolf is really good seasons 1-3 (in a campy, teen way), seasons 4 & 5 kind of miss the mark, 6A is fucking brilliant (still teen and campy, but I actually found it brilliant), and 6B (airing now) is the end of the show, so it's fun and 99% fanservice. It's streaming only on Amazon Prime through the end of S5, but the rest will go up soon. (They don't usually wait a super long time.) (For reference: I loved TVD, but Shadowhunters makes me roll my eyes and go WOW TOO TEEN CAMPY, so there's that?)

Killjoys is amazing, but I'm fairly certain I bought the seasons? I don't remember. Some of it might be streaming somewhere? You can get all three seasons on Amazon Prime. S3 just finished airing two weeks ago.

As for: ANIME. Man, the 90s were great for anime. By which I mean: there weren't 10 billion shows (more than half being utterly awful), so you could find your niche ones. To be fair, I didn't really leave anime fandom until 2010, so I have likely ... seen way too much. Far too much. And I also read all the manga and scanlations. Holy shit. I recently pared down my manga collection and sold 3/4 of it (after having sold 3/4 of the original collection back in 2014). I now only own about 300 volumes! Yeah. Um.

To me Teen Wolf was always a pale imitation of Buffy. However I get the large fandom because, like SPN, there are pieces of it that can be great which makes for a lot of exploration in fanworks. I personally liked the idea of the Argent family, and I also liked other parents in the series such as Scott and Stiles' (who were all but absent in Buffy). I'm current on the series but it was basically filler for me during times when I had divided attention.

I have been trying out Killjoys myself, but when I realized Netflix didn't have it streaming I just jumped into the latest season which I'd set to record. I think it's the 4th? It's not really grabbing me. I plan to watch the whole season to see if I want to keep going but so far it just seems ok.

Thanks. I'm not really fannish (outside of Buffy) so not sure that Teen Wolf will work for me. Also, I always found Werewolves to either be silly or campy, with a few exceptions. Preferred the vampire genre to the werewolf genre, for some reason. So those may be two draw-backs that I can't past - particularly the teen camp factor. I'm not sure I could watch Buffy now...because teen shows seem to grate on my nerves at the moment. (Not sure why.)

Killjoys -- I may try on Amazon, assuming it's free with my Amazon Prime membership. Not willing to pay for it.
