Procrastination Meme that I created...I swear the internet is the greatest time waster for writers. Been trying to work on my book all weekend, and I keep getting distracted by the internet. (Managed to write fifteen pages, so am now at 312 pages and over 159,000 words. Not bad. But I have five to six chapters to go on book one. And I'm going back to work tomorrow -- which means no real time to write again until the weekend. It's hard to write with a full-time job and a long commute.)
1. Sunrise or Sunset?
Sunset. I like the colors better...also, it's the end of the day and I'm a night-owl.
2. Tea or coffee?
Tea. (De-caffeinated). You don't want to see me on coffee.
3. Shoes or socks?
Prefer socks...much more comfortable.
4. Pants or skirts?
Pants, again its a comfort thing. (Note, I know men who wear skirts -- a lot of them live in Scotland and wear kilts. Also in India and other countries.)
5. Television or movies?
Toss-up, prefer TV, because can watch at home, and like a novel...long with layers, movies tend to be stand-a-lone short stories with less layers.
6. Fiction or non-fiction?
Fiction -- I like stories that are imaginative and character driven, taking me inside another person's mind for a bit. Although non-fiction can do that at times -- not often as well.
7. Did you enjoy school?
I enjoyed learning, but not school. Found school to be counter-productive to learning -- it often got in the way, which is odd -- I know. You'd think it would be the opposite? Too many lectures and tests -- and that's not how I learn, so I found it counter-productive. I tend to be hands on or an active learner, not a passive learner -- so test horribly and lectures often go in one ear and out the other. Why I don't bother with audio books or podcasts -- I can never remember stuff I've had to listen to for a long period of time. Also can't take notes while I'm listening -- or do anything else while I'm listening, or I'll forget it.
8. Numbers or words?
Words. Numbers confuse me. I flip them about and struggle to make sense of them -- unless there's a discernible pattern.
9. City or Country?
City, although depends on the city. I like big compact cities like NYC, San Francisco, Chicago, Boston, London, Paris, Istanbul...sprawling cities like Houston, Kansas City and LA give me a headache. Love the culture.
10. House or apartment?
Apartment -- easier to maintain, less upkeep, also weirdly less lonely and feels safer somehow.
11. Place you'd like to go on vacation right now?
Somewhere tropical -- mainly because it's cold and gray and everything is dead outside. Right now, considering Peru, although may decide on Seattle and Alaska. Depends on which is cheaper.
2. Victoria is back on PBS. I still like "The Crown" better. My mother has a crush on the guy playing Prince Albert (he's all moody) while I have a crush on Rufus Sewell (who is playing Mountbatten). I just want to smack Albert upside the head.
I think Diana Rigg is playing the Duchess (if so, she's really aged, hasn't she?) And the gal who played Patsy on Call the Midwife seems to be portraying Lady Lovelace (the mathmatician).
3. Feeling much better this weekend. Hoping it continues. Got a lot of work to do.
