Mar. 7th, 2018 09:25 pmStorm is mostly rain, and slushy snow. In other words, very wet. Got soaked by wet snow on the way home -- and walked through slush. Snow boots don't handle slush well. Just saying.
Got to work this morning and decided to make myself a nice hot cup of tea in my favorite mug. And guess what? I burned my hand on the hot water coming out of the watercooler/heater...resulting in me dropping the mug -- it sort of flew to the floor and smashed into a million pieces. A co-worker helped me clean up the mess, while three others helped me locate some burn cream and apply it to my hand.
Do miss the mug though. I've got one at home to replace it. But you know, favorite mug.
Still struggling to find a book that will hold my attention for more than twenty pages. But making headway on the one I'm writing to and from work and at night.
Work is crazy.
There's a slew of television shows popping up this month.
Here's The TV SHOWS POPPING UP IN MARCH CALENDAR -- Warning there are 90 new television series, and most of them seem to be on Netflix.
Why we need all these television shows, I don't know. I can barely keep track of the ones that I'm currently watching. I don't know what to do with more of them.
But I will most likely check out RISE(NBC), Krypton (Syfy), The Zoo (Animal Planet -- in the hopes that it is actually a drama about working in a zoo, because that would be interesting, but somehow I doubt it), Instinct (because Alan Cumming...but it has serial killers - so this may not last long, I hate TV shows, movies, books that focus on serial killers), The Dangerous Book for Boys (Amazon -- mainly because of the title).
We haven't gotten to April yet.

Date: 2018-03-08 07:53 am (UTC)No, it isn't. It's rather light hearted about the people who work there and how they interact with various animals. The focus is about explaining their mission which is the conservation of various species.

Date: 2018-03-08 03:27 pm (UTC)Sigh. Me and reality shows are unmixy things. (I apparently have 0 patience for watching interviews on film.)

Date: 2018-03-08 10:26 pm (UTC)One thing that also caught my attention is how often medical issues are part of each episode. It makes me wonder if this is more likely to happen with captive animals or if it's simply that in the wild animals have a very high death rate quite apart from deliberate attacks.

Date: 2018-03-09 02:41 am (UTC)Medical issues are a problem for all animals I think...I have a lot of co-workers with ill pets. Everything from diabetes to cancer to ceiliac disease (yes, apparently this effects cats and dogs as well).
I'd think wild animals have the some of the same issues, although probably not all of them -- due to the fact that they may be eating a different diet. Many ailments, for humans and animals, are dietary related. So probably different ailments based on diet, environment, etc.

Date: 2018-03-08 01:54 pm (UTC)I was looking around for a specific mug of mine, a few days ago. Not my favorite, but I'm annoyed with myself if I both broke it and then forgot about it.

Date: 2018-03-08 03:29 pm (UTC)The hand is fine today, thanks! Just stung a bit. But no real issues or lasting effects.
Still mourning the loss of the cup however -- it was perfect in every way. Sigh. Oh well, brought a new one and will survive. At least the hand wasn't badly hurt.

Date: 2018-03-08 05:48 pm (UTC)I forgot about it. If it weren't for the reminder, I wouldn't know it aired this month. That's the problem, too many ...I can't keep track. I have over 50 hours on my DVR as it is, not to mention everything in the streaming queue.
Oh and that's just March. There's a huge slew of stuff coming in April.
