Mar. 21st, 2018 09:54 pm1. Can't tell if it is still snowing outside or not. It's pretty though. Very pretty. Although feeling a bit sorry for the poor flowering tree that was budding and is now covered with snow. Poor tree -- it was ready for spring. Sometimes I wish I could just live in a forest surrounded by trees and no people.
2. Been having a lot of nightmares lately...last night it was the nightmare of eternal waking. I kept waking up into a nightmare of getting ready for work...so by the time the alarm actually went off and I awoke, I was a bit discombobulated and wondered what the hell.
3. Also in a reading slump...I think I've burned out on romance novels finally. I can't finish a single one. Make if twenty-fifty pages in and give up. More interested in working on the book I'm writing than reading one at the moment.
4. Co-workers use their lunch hour to catch up on their television shows via their cell phones. (They are obviously under the age of 45. Because no one older than that is really doing it, okay maybe one or two. I use mine to walk, surf the net, respond to personal email, and write. As a result, I have 66 hours of television saved on my DVR. Had to delete Wolf Hall -- came to grips with the fact that I am not going to watch it. Next on the chopping block?
a) The Assaination of Gianna Versace (5)
b) The Expanse (7 episodes from S2)
c. Unsolved Murder Tupack and Big...(and if I can't remember the title maybe I should get rid of it?)
d.) Kevin Probably Saves the World (4)
e) Scandal (10)
f) Good Girls
g.) Victoria (6 episodes)
h.) Once Upon a Time (3 episodes)
This is your chance to convince me to save television shows or to cancel them.
Already deleted Wolf Hall, American Idol and the rest of Instinct.

Date: 2018-03-23 02:23 am (UTC)I have been watching Unsolved. There's nothing wrong with it, but if you aren't taken by the first episode I'd say don't bother to continue.
I have been waiting to post about Assassination until I saw the final episode, which is this week. I wasn't that taken with it at first and some parts are just hard to watch. (Also, I know you're not into serial killers). However, I didn't stop watching and I have to say the reverse chronological order they decided to take has had some interesting results. The last episode I saw was, I thought, the most revealing. So as a whole it's been different, I'll say that much. But it may not be for you.

Date: 2018-03-31 02:39 am (UTC)Resistent to cancelling either Victoria or The Expanse, because I honestly think my mood will change on both and I'll be pissed with myself for cancelling them.

Date: 2018-03-30 10:48 pm (UTC)I've only seen one episode of Scandal. I've seen maybe three of Once Upon a Time. I've never seen the other series (and have no plans to do so).
Helpful!Wendy is helpful.

Date: 2018-03-31 02:37 am (UTC)Scandal had one good season. S2. I've struggled with it past that point and now have 11 episodes that I've yet to watch. Eh, may give up soon.
Also...may give up on OUAT soon.

Date: 2018-03-31 03:51 am (UTC)Season three begins April 11. (I think that's right.) We're committed to watching at least the first three. My husband is hoping the writers will quickly extricate the characters from last season's trash heap of a finale. I am less hopeful.
I quit reading the book series midway through the first volume. I've heard the books get better but there are so many great books to read, I can't think of a single reason to struggle through something I'm not enjoying.

Date: 2018-03-31 01:09 pm (UTC)Ah, I liked that episode. But wasn't able to get into the next one -- it's too big in scope, and not in an engaging way for me. (I liked BSG for some reason better.)
Yeah, season three begins in mid April. I'm on the fence. Considering I can't get myself to watch the last six to seven episodes of Season 2.

Yep, feel pretty much the same way with both television shows and books. Too many, too little time, to wast on ones that aren't grabbing me or are a struggle to get through. Had to do that in school -- I'm out of school now, been for some time now. I can read or watch whatever I want. It's not job related. If it feels like work? I'm not going to do it.
Which actually has been my struggle with book clubs -- I keep trying to join them, but they keep picking books I don't feel like reading and look like work to get through. LOL!
