Apr. 28th, 2019 02:25 pm1. It's getting hard to avoid spoilers on Avenger's Endgame, mainly because people don't appear to know how to keep spoilers out of their subject headings (professional writers and neophytes alike).
It is is a spoiler when you state:
"Avenger's Infitinity War killed 85% of the Characters including Black Panther"
or
"Darth Vader is Luke's father."
or
"They Killed Tara!"
or
"Captain Jack's Farewell - I still can't get over it."
These are spoilers. Hello.
All I want to know?
* Did you like it?
* Did you see it on IMAX, Regular, or RPX? (I don't do 3D).
2. Rosewell, New Mexico
Saw the last two episodes last night which included the season finale. (At least I think it has been renewed. Be surprised if it isn't, they keep renewing all the other shows..on CW. Some of which are bit head-scratching. And they are ending several as well.)
Anyhow, it surprised me.
Well anoyo and I were right about the science -- they get their power from the earth's electro-magnetic field and bio-electrical energy in humans. Basically electricity fulls them -- but of the natural variety - such as lightening, or the bio-electrical field inside people.
Didn't expect Max to sacrifice himself to save Rosa -- although he probably thought he could resurrect her without sacrificing himself. Not sure why -- he had to know there'd be a price.
The fact that Noah kept Rosa in his pod, suspended in animation all this time, made sense. He was a bit obsessed with her. But why didn't he pursue her as Noah and not hijack Isobel to do it? I didn't understand why he hijacking other people's bodies to do what he needed to do. Was it for kicks? To stay hidden? Or because he hadn't fully healed?
Of course they kill off Noah before he can explain what happened and who they are -- he tells them just enough to intrigue everyone. I personally think Noah was the stowaway on the ship, that resulted in it crashing to earth and everything getting grabbed. Not sure how the people on the ship saved Max, Isobel and Michael.
But they must have put them in the pods and secreted them somewhere that even Noah could find. Noah apparently didn't have his own pod and took someone's which was defective -- which is why he had issues. I think he was the stowaway that hijacked the ship.
I could do without the nasty government conspiracy and evil military trope, but with aliens -- it's going to be there. Which was my problem with the original series.
Along with the X-Files. Working for governmental agencies has made me less tolerant of this trope over time -- why? The government is incredibly dysfunctional and ruled by idiots. I just don't think they are smart enough to pull it off.
Speaking of? I liked what Kyle did with Alex's Dad. Didn't shoot him, instead shot him up with barbituates which will put him into a lengthy coma.
Felt a little sorry for Alex, who is in love with Michael, but because of what his father did to Michael and Michael's family -- he may never be able to get a chance with him again. Michael told Isobel or someone, can't remember who, that it hurt too much to love Alex. Every time he gave in -- he crashed. Maria Deluca is easier to love, less pain. (And it has nothing to do with his sexual orientation, which I love. It's about the situation. ) Also, that may not be true -- we don't know what Maria's mother is up to.
I don't think Max is dead -- he's the savior and the hero of the series. So next season may be about bringing him back. Don't know.

Date: 2019-04-29 02:18 am (UTC)Although..I'm guessing there's something about Endgame that makes 3D an interesting option. (But I don't want to be spoiled so won't ask -- although I can pretty much guess, because I've been rewatching the Marvel flicks, and Doctor Strange definitely would be cool in 3D. Black Panther was horrible in 3D. But Ant-man and the Wasp and Doctor Strange -- really cool. So if Endgame has the same special effects as Ant-Man and the Wasp, Doctor Strange, and Guardians of the Galaxy -- then yep 3D would be interesting. Still gives me a headache though -- I have issues with visual and spatial items. The way my mind is wired, things seem closer to me than they actually are. It's one of the reasons, I really can't drive or play any ball games or dance with any level of accuracy.)

Date: 2019-04-29 02:25 am (UTC)Yes, I became curious about 3-D again exactly because I read reviews that mentioned Dr. Strange was a particularly good film to see in it. Unfortunately I came down sick around the time of release and never got to try it out.
I could understand the concern about a headache too, considering how long the film is.

Date: 2019-05-07 10:24 pm (UTC)Apparently they have 4D now too -- but it's not worth the money. Honestly, why anyone would want to watch the Avengers Endgame in 4 D is beyond me. (surround sound, smell, touch, taste, and stuff coming at you).
