1.The hot water is working again. Wasn't last night and this morning -- so they must have fixed the boiler issue. Only the dryers and stove/oven are out. But the management gave us all hot pads -- basically two electric burners to cook on and heat stuff up on. Also still have microwave, the minature grill, and instapot.

2. I'm leaving on a jet plane don't know when I'll be back again...

Well, no, actually I do -- next Tuesday. Will return to work next Thursday. But I've decided to run away from home and work for a bit. Going up to Martha's Vineyard to visit MD and her significant for about five days. Getting out of NY, getting away from apartment, getting away from work...

Part of me just wants to stay gone.

I've decided I want to run away from home. Anyone want to join me?

But I'm not sure Martha's Vineyard is far enough. Somebody suggested Bali. I'm thinking New Zealand. (Yes, I'm fed up with the news on the Doofus, the Doofettes, and the Grand Old Pigs, work, apartment issues...I need a break).

3. I keep seeing commercials for Stumptown -- I've decided that looks good, it looks like a female Philip Marlow or VI Warchowski. Tough female PI. Also I like Coby Smulders.

4. Having a massive thunderstorm.

Martha's Vineyard sounds soooo nice at this time of year. Lots of cool shade. I'm envious. Enjoy yourself, and I hope your hot water problems will be behind you when you get back.

I'm not so hot about Tarantino. Let's stay with "The Kitchen" in August when I come back from Cooperstown.

ETA: "Stumptown" is Cobie Smulders' star vehicle. That's worth at least a look from me.

Heh, given our trip I was rather relieved to get back home. But I hope you have good weather while away. Sounds like given the heat wave it'll be a better place to be. Have a good time!
