1. Good news, Wales survived -- she was in the hospital for a week, it was torturous (which is pretty much true of hospitals despite what television shows depict), but she's okay now. Apparently the worst bit was having no control over her body or anything. They wake her up at 5AM to take blood each day. And even though she can walk -- they transport her everywhere. And all medications must be given by them.
No physical privacy, etc. This is why I don't like the medical profession -- it has a tendency to treat human beings like file folders. The legal profession also has this tendency, but at least they are actually dealing with file folders not bodies.

You are basically trusting a bunch of strangers with the care of your body. They screw up in any way? You're dead and it's just a really bad day for them. Be nice if there were greater consequences -- oh wait, that's why there are tort lawyers. I remember once in law school -- when we did a karaoke face off with the medical students. And our torts professor stated -- "those are your future defendants" - in reference to the medical students.

Wales gets my sense of humor -- we share the same sense of humor. The problem I have had with various friends online and off is I don't think we share the same sense of humor. This can be a major factor in on-going relationships. It's hard to maintain a long-term deep relationship with someone who doesn't share your sense of humor. You will eventually piss each other off and break up. It is inevitable.

3. I need to figure out how to use my Instapot. Instant Pot is Better than a Grill.

I have one, I'm just afraid to use it. We covered the fact that while I can cook, I'm not crazy about it, right?

4. S2 of The Expanse was actually better than S1. It only had two boring episodes.
Also more diverse and interesting characters, and less screen time taken up by political discussions that seemingly go nowhere or James Holden/Stephen Miller bonding -- which worked better in the book than series. S2 has some fascinating heroines, and a few new additions that make the story more interesting and varied.

Also it ends on a much more interesting cliff-hanger, which isn't really a cliff-hanger, but also sort of is. Much like Farscape before it -- it's making a strong statement about technology, warfare and humanity.

I'm going to binge S3 this weekend.

And stay away from the news...which is making me increasing frustrated, misanthropic, depressed and anxious. You know there's a problem -- when you can't help but wonder if the leader of your country is the anti-christ. (Lando is convinced of it, he went on a mini-rant about it earlier this week. I told him he was a frustrated Baptist Minister and had missed his true calling. He agreed, since apparently Baptist Ministers have expensive cars and are living the life.)

I do find the constant barrage of awfulness in the news to be not great for anxiety, depression, and yup, misanthropy. It's also hard to look away.

I was in the same place as you with my instant pot several months ago. For me it was just a matter of practice using it to get past that hurdle of nervousness. (It helped that I found a delicious recipe for white chili with chicken, so I was motivated to get more at ease using it. Too bad it has dairy; that's currently on my list of things to avoid, so I haven't made it lately.)
