1. Freshman college roommate -- indicated that I should try Emergence Awesome to see all the MCU/Disney + news.

Black Widow Movie Preview and casting news, along with news on all the other Marvel Tv Series on Disney + -- they are planning on having a new Black Widow pop out of the movie.

The movie actually looks really good.

Eternals? Kit Harrington is cast as the Black Knight. He's joining the Eternals Movie. (Black Knight is among the very first of the Avengers characters.)

Also the comic book they are basing the Eternals on is ...Neil Gaiman's Eternals.

News on Moon Knight, Ms. Marvel, and SheHulk

They are airing the shows weekly not binge style like on Netflix.

Here's the site for fellow geeks... Emergence Awesome

2. The new Joke trailer is out. Which is an origin story that looks like a combination of the back story shown in Alan Moore's The Killing Joke and that old Robert Deniro/Jerry Lewis film The King of Comedy (considering how much I despised The King of Comedy and dislike the Joker, I don't foresee myself watching this movie...but who knows?).

Someone on scans daily asked who this film was being made for exactly. Well, let's see...the Breaking Bad crowd, the Joquain Phoenix/Deniro fans, people who like dark gritty character studies about anti-heroes -- which is a huge number of people.

It's getting awards attention apparently.

3. I'm reading the newest issue of Hickman's X-men reboot, House of X #3, and my major quibble is...I would like more storytelling in graphic art form, and less difficult to read charts, weird symbols that are creating a new code-like language, and expository content. I have a feeling that Hickman is a frustrated computer software programmer/guide book writer or maybe frustrated Apple handbook writer -- his charts and expository content in tiny print remind me of that.

The story is good, but you have to do a lot of work to get to it.

The trailer for Joker that I saw the other week made it look like a blatant mash-up of Taxi Driver and The King of Comedy done to look as much like a 1970s Scorsese film as possible, and since I've seen both of those I don't see the point of watching Joker.

Nothing I've seen in the Joker trailer makes me want to watch it. I'm definitely not the audience they're aiming for. Awards attention? Really?

I'll confess to feeing a little giddy when I heard the Black Knight was going to be appearing in the MCU. He was in the first Marvel Comic I bought for myself -- Defenders #7, back in 1972. Yeah, not the story they're telling (it wasn't a great story, looking back at the first 10 issues of that book -- which I still have), but it's cool to see another piece of my entry point coming to life.

Hickman -- I enjoy his work, but I've found it reads better for me if I pile up four or five issues and read them in a single go. Otherwise, I feel like I'm missing something. So I haven't dipped into his House of X yet. Probably in another week or so.
