shadowkat1. The awesome trailer for The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina - S3 -- it's so awesome that I'm VERY tempted to binge the rest of S2 so that I can see S3. Dang it. Also very catchy song.
2. Morbius - the Living Vampire Trailer - just when I thought I was done with vampires, along comes something interesting via Marvel. And starring Jared Leto -- so some serious talent there. And Michael Keaton pops up.
Marvel is doing some interesting movies.
3. Oh yay!! Lucifer to do a full-fledged musical in it's fifth season
Lucifer is alive with the sound of music.
EW has exclusively learned that season 5’s 10th episode will be a full-blown musical episode. Titled “Bloody Celestial Karaoke Jam,” (wonder who speaks that line of dialogue…) the hour will feature multiple musical numbers and shouldn’t be confused with the final season’s fourth episode, which is 1940s noir themed and contains two song performances.
Music has always been a big part of the WBTV drama’s DNA going as far back season 1. In fact, showrunners Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson have always wanted to do a musical episode but were waiting until they came up with the right story.
“We wanted to have a real grounded story reason why they’re signing and dancing, and not just, ‘Oh, this is going to be the one where everybody sings and dance,'” Modrovich tells EW. “It’s been a little game of Tetris [planning the episode] but it’s super fun. It’s going to be amazing. It’s going to be just such a bucket list thing for me.” At the moment, though, they’re keeping the story’s details close to the chest.
Lucifer‘s final season is shaping up to be an exciting one: 24‘s Dennis Haysbert has been cast as God, Amenadiel (D.B. Woodside) is taking a trip to hell, and Tricia Helfer will also appear.
Lucifer returns for its bifurcated fifth season later this year on Netflix.

Tom Ellis who plays Lucifer can sing really well. Also, I'm a sucker for this stuff. I've been known to watch television shows that I don't normally watch just to see the musical episode. I'm one of those odd people who gets off on watching people just burst out into song or sing their way through a story on film or on stage.
[I can't sing and do not enjoy singing. The only person in my immediate family that does is my mother. The rest of us are more or less tone death. But I adore music and singing. ]
But I wish they weren't splitting the final fifth season in half. Frigging Netflix.
4. You know what? I genuinely can’t generate any enthusiasm for thinking about the Oscar slate at all this year, so, yeah, I’m gonna take a pass and maybe come back to it in 2021. I feel pretty good about this decision, honestly. - J. Scalzi (who always does a breakdown and predictions.)

Date: 2020-01-17 03:44 am (UTC)But, it does have its moments. Also Tricia Helfer (BSG) plays Lucifer and Amiandel's mother - the Goddess, and God's Wife in S2. Which I found interesting.
Also Lucifer's psychologist, his brother, the Archangel Amiandiel, and Maze (a demon) have a weird love triangle.
If you ignore the procedural crap -- it works.
Shows that can't decide if they're procedurals or something else can be frustrating.
Yep. I'm not a fan of procedurals, so will often have to be talked into watching a show -- because it turns into something else. But have to wade through the procedural crap to get there. The Good Wife, Buffy, Angel, Moonlighting, Lucifer...all suffered from that. As did Veronica Mars.
I blame networks who think everyone wants to watch procedurals. Also procedurals are easier to make -- episodic, mystery per week, quick. And last forever. I personally find them predictable and boring, with few exceptions.

I enjoy it - but, I wouldn't go out of my way to see it unless you have time on your hands, are deeply bored, and hunting something to watch -- and just happen to be in the mood for a sexy man, with a devilish grin, who can sing, and looks great with his shirt off. LOL! Also, Lucifer's shrink and Maze, are well worth watching it for. I kind of have a girl-crush on Maze. She's a demon and a bounty hunter, who is very good with knives and Lucifer's right-hand gal.
