I had thought of posting this before (and in fact just got done scrolling back and back to be sure I hadn't, 'cause memory very finicky these days) because it was a good answer to several previous questions, but...

... there is no hesitation in my saying that this woman was the first female singer/musician that I fell in love with, still am to this day, and I mean with her, not just her magnificent voice and gifted songwriting abilities.

I'm posting this short interview link with her first, before the link below to a song that she did not write, but that always somehow distills the essence of her gift.

I have heard many versions of this song, from Sandy, Fairport, the Farinas--this is the best. And Swarb on the coda--beautiful.

I regret never seeing her live. I got to her music too late.
