It's Day #2 of the 30 DAY FILM CHALLENGE - a film you like that starts with the first letter of your name.

I've decided to go with my online name "shadowkat", you may do what you wish.

This has got to be among my favorite vampire movies ever. It's clever. And a kind of meta-narrative/meta-fiction on the whole vampire film and monster movie trope - before anyone else appeared to come up with the idea. The story is about the making of the film Nostrefratu (an unauthorized version of Bram Stoker's Dracula in Germany) with an actual vampire, which the director fails to disclose to the cast and crew.

Yeah, when I saw the prompt yesterday for today. I thought, nope. I'm not doing that with my real first name. If for no other reason than there aren't a lot of good movies to start with that letter and the one I thought of instantly is a good movie that I don't like! So I'll go with the first letter of my on-line last name (Cactus Watcher, two words even if they are run together on various accounts I have.) and pick not an old classic, but a more modern favorite of mine...Wonder Woman (2017)

I'll admit using the last name may be cheating, but, no, it was always two words that got mushed together here and on other internet platforms that either don't allow spaces or don't allow underscores or both. I was always Cactus Watcher on ATPo where you and I first met.

This is my favorite performance by Willem Dafoe. His, um, "interpretation" of Max Schrek isn't remotely human, but it has a weird charm that almost demands to be put on film. You understand why Murnau is willing to use his cast and crew as cannon fodder to capture the creature's essence.

The movie that changed Hollywood. Ground Zero for the Summer Blockbuster. Spielberg's film making instincts turned a potential disaster into a masterpiece of suspense. Universal's p.r. department turned it into a phenomenon.

Like Cactus Watcher, I had to modify my "official" online handle when the move to LJ took place, because apparently there is a popular TV show in some Eastern European country that has the initials o,n,m, and so someone else had already taken that login there. I did what several other ATPo folks did, and added that prefix to the OnM. That carried on to DW.

So... Objects in Mirror, or OnM... "o" would be the first character of the first name.

Yeah, yeah, picky me! ;-)
