Day #30 of the 30 DAY SONG CHALLENGE - "a Song that Reminds You of Yourself."

I've been waiting to do this one from the beginning. That song, I knew off the bat. I may have decided to do the challenge for this song.

Oh, I like that pick. It does fit you. "the thinking too much" bit does fit me, I'm spending a lot of time stopping that. LOL!

There was another song challenge meme - but I thought doing a film challenge would be more interesting. Also, I can remember films. Songs are harder for me.

Sometime in the next week or two I want to start a meme requesting some words or a line from a song that really struck you as particularly memorable, that you recall and perhaps site when you're speaking to someone about, well, whatever.

This song features several memorable lines, but the one that seems to fit me, and most of my life is...

Not so much for the apparent first level of the song, which suggests that Colvin is singing about a romantic relationship/dilemma, but for how that phrase, and another...

... could just as easily relate to one's relationship with either God or in this amazing/beautiful/tragic/painful physical world we inhabit.

That would be impossible for me - I can't remember song lyrics to save my life. I have little to no memory for anything music or audio related. It's why I can't sing or play music well. And what I remember is random - like a jingle or a phrase - is it memorable, not really.

No problem, stress ye not! It's not so much about lyrics en masse, but for a certain line that stands out and gets stuck in your brain, much like a jingle would, but with a greater level of emotional/intellectual/spiritual attachment or meaning.

Another example for myself would be one I used for this icon, which was from a Doors lyric:

No eternal reward will forgive us now for wasting the dawn."

The brain is an amazing organ... you never know what may emerge from its hidden recesses!

Regarding the song? I love that line..."I'm riding shotgun down the avalanche".

I totally get that - because feeling that way sometimes myself. And while most (as in 98%) of songs I can barely remember, I do remember Left of Center, but I've also listened to it within the last two weeks...
