This is day 8 of the 30 Day Television Show Challenge.

Prompt is..A non-musical Television show with a soundtrack that you loved or enjoyed.

Hmm..

I loved the above soundtrack enough that I downloaded it and play it on my iphone.

Jan Hammer was in charge of the soundtrack but the most famous song played on the series was Phil Collins "In the Air Tonight".

Doesn't look like I can often contribute to your current memes, so I should jump in with this one.

Mr. Lucky. An adventure/drama show about a casino owner. The Henry Mancini score was far more memorable than the series.

Because its hero, Jackson Brodie, was a fan of country music in the books, the TV adaption of Case Histories had a great soundtrack of mostly American female country singers. I enjoyed the series, apart from the last episode which I hated. I adored the score.

I made a playlist of every song from the series I could find on Youtube.
For your listening pleasure: Case Histories.

The score for Batman: The Animated Series played a big part of establishing the mood of the series. (Danny Elfman wrote the main theme, but Shirley Walker did the lion's share of the soundtrack.)

Petzi grabbed my first choice, and the problem with my close second one is that it's been too long since this was on the air, and I can't recall any of the other music in the soundtrack, although I was pretty sure it was there, and it wasn't just this famous opening theme music:

I did indeed find that there was an album issued of the series' music:

So I'm not completely off base, anyway!

The Hill Street theme was composed by Mike Post, who apparently wrote EVERY theme for a prime time drama in the 1970s and 1980s.

Along with Hill Street, Post wrote (and hit the top 10 with!) the themes from The Rockford Files and The Greatest American Hero.

Not to mention: Magnum P.I., Law and Order, the A-Team, NYPD Blue, Quantum Leap, L.A. Law, and a few hundred others I'm forgetting...
