This is Day 4 of the 30 Days of Halloween Challenge.

The prompt is Best or worst film or television adaptation of a vampire novel.

I'm going with a television series that improved on the books..which weren't that good. I read most of the novel series - so feel I can actually make that assessment, and I saw the complete series, which admittedly went bonkers at the end..and off the rails, but so did the books.

1983's The Hunger . The book was much, much better.

Oh, I've never seen it. It's a cult classic though -my friend, Wales liked it. But she loves anything that stars David Bowie.

Wondered if it was any good. Didn't know it was adapted from a book.

I'm going back four decades (1979) for Salem's Lot: The Miniseries, directed by Tobe Hooper (Poltergeist, Texas Chainsaw Massacre). Still one of the best Stephen King adaptations.

Ah, the one with David Soul. I remember watching that one - or trying to. I found it scary, and it was among the better Stephen King miniseries or television adaptions.
I considered giving Stephen King his own category - they did on one of memes I stole stuff from. But chose not too. Not everyone is a Stephen King fan...it could be limiting.
