This is Day #10 of the 30 Day Television Challenge

The prompt is: An actor/actress (human or an animal - doesn't matter) who you have religiously followed from one television series to another (if you don't have one, just favorite male television actor).

The rules:

1. Don't pick the same television show someone else picked.
2. Don't pick the same television series you picked in another category. (ie. if you picked say Parks and Recreation, you can pick Rob Lowe, just not for Parks and Recreation.)
3. You can do up to two clips for the actor, actress, and animal but keep in mind you are limiting others choices and limiting the television series you can use in other categories.

(As an aside, I don't recommend following television actors/actresses - the writing and direction govern in television, actors have no control. You can see someone in one show - and they are brilliant, and they suck in something else - has nothing to do with the actor, it has to do with the writer and director, costume, hair, etc.)

Okay, my choice for actor is..

David Tennant. Using two clips, to give you an idea of this guy's range:

Tennant is actually among the few that I've liked in pretty much everything I've seen him in. I'm not sure if he's just highly selective, or very good.
Most of the time I get disappointed and eventually give up.

Tennant is the gold standard. Great choice.

My pick:

Gina Torres.

(Pretend to be surprised, okay?)

From Alias to Hercules, to the Whedonverse with Angel and Firefly, into the Matrix and even into the cheese with (urgh) Cleopatra 2525, I have watched Gina lend pride, power and presence to every role.

Will I watch Gina when she joins 911 Lone Star? I don't normally watch those kinds of shows....

Yeah, probably.

On Hercules, Torres played Nebula, pirate queen and Sumerian princess.

Yeah, I couldn't take Suits for too long, either; it was like watching Marsters in Without a Trace.

Watching great actors squeeze themselves into procedurals is like catching up with an old college buddy who's just taken that accounting job:

I mean, you're kind of glad for him, he's getting paid well and he can provide for the family... but you know he could do a lot better.

Marsters was at BUFFY level on Millennium, and that's really about it for what I've seen from him outside of Whedon. All he needs a juicy character to sink his teeth into (if you'll pardon the expression). Actually, I'm shocked that one of the streaming services hasn't lined up a vehicle for him.
