This theme song fits the show perfectly. I downloaded the song because of the series. It is over the front credits or the preview section.

Oh youtube suddenly stopped letting me copy and embed videos in my journal and on FB. I have no idea why.

This version is hard to explain unless you've seen and remember that... okay, it's still hard to explain, but I assure you it does make sense in the totality of things in the Supernatural universe.

The short explanation(?) is that the Winchester brothers are in a girls school, and there is a big fascination among many of the students there with the Winchester's story, which they know about from reading books about it. So the students put on a play about them.

Oh, I watched the episode (it's a musical episode - there's no way I'd skip that, even it if was cringe-inducingly bad at times) - it basically was referencing the female fan community of Supernatural. And not the first episode to do so. The writers of that series really loved referencing their fandom. There's whole episodes of that show that are devoted to the fandom or their acknowledgment of it. They even write the fandom into the series, and have a writer writing books about the Winchesters - which are prophetic of what they are doing - who turns out to be God. (ie. The Writer as God.)

I've seen a lot of the series, mainly because so many online friends loved it and I got curious.
