And the repercussions of this week continue...
1. Compiling Criminal Charges Following the Capitol Riot - someone has created a database/web site compiling all the criminal charges of the folks who participated in the riot on Wed.
Oh, also... FBI has set up a website where you can report any information or tips on the whereabouts and identities of those who participated in the riots on Wed

If you do not have an attachment but have information to provide, please submit it at tips.fbi.gov.
People are sending in tips daily - that's how they were able to identify, locate and arrest so many of them already. (Assisted by the idiots taking selfies and broadcasting it).
They've already caught the ones we've seen the most pictures of.
2. Twitter, FB, and Instagram have suspended and removed the accounts of Trump and his cronies. I went to look for myself - and yep. It's also really kind of amusing - because he keeps trying to tweet in various other guises, and Twitter keeps taking down the account or removing the tweets and blocking him.
[People on Twitter have been enjoying the fact that he's been suspended. Well except for the cronies that haven't been thrown out yet.]
Parler has also been disabled now - Apple, Google, and Amazon have removed it.
Amazon's take down of Parler site means that unless it can find another host - it will go offline. The ban takes effect on Sunday
3. West Virgina Lawmaker - the newly elected representative to the West Virgina State Legislature who live streamed his role in the riots - has resigned, after recently being arrested and arraigned
4. Cuomo Widens Virus Distribution in NY State
I received an email today from my agency, that New York State has classified everyone in my agency as an essential worker now - and we're all slated to get it. So, I may end up getting it in April now instead of March. There are about 70,000 folks in the agency. They've also widened it to include all public school teachers and educators, everyone 75+ ...
Regarding side-effects?
Midnight Jane got hers in December and has not reported any. Nor has a college friend who got one. Or my Aunt and Uncle who just got theirs - they got the Moderna one. The other two got the Pfizer.
I saw one person who reported 12-16 hours of fever and chills with the second dose, but fine after that. But she was the only one. Everyone else just said their arm was sore.
It reminds me of the flu vaccine - some people get symptoms like the flu for a few days, others get nothing at all. I got nothing at all. My family got nothing at all with the flu vaccine.
Allergic reactions are rare.
We were joking at work about turning into mutants.
Personally? I'm fine with waiting a bit longer. I'd rather my family got it before me. But getting it does mean I can stop worrying so much about catching the virus.
5. The Brooklyn Bag Man - who pulls plastic bags out of trees

I think it was NBC again that posted a tweet from Mike Pompeo, complaining about Internet companies working to silence 75 million Americans for years... Of course, his rounding up is a tad generous. All 74.22 million Trump voters didn't incite others to riot or approve of the riot or get banned. And of course he's ignoring that fact that Trump vetoed the Defense Bill precisely because he wanted a law gone that prevents him from suing the same Internet companies for allowing the rest of the US population to exercise our right of free speech to criticize him on their platforms.

Date: 2021-01-10 03:15 pm (UTC)True. Only 5 million have twitter accounts if that. Most aren't even on social media, or participate on it. And about 40% of the people who voted for the idiot, did it because they are Republicans.
And most of the people who did vote for him - were against what happened on Jan 6, and accepted the election results.

Date: 2021-01-11 01:05 am (UTC)Also there's really not as many of them as they think. To put this in perspective? 26-50 million Americans marched in Black Lives Matter across all 50 states. And at least 2 million showed up in DC for the Women's March and the Million March in protest to Trump and White Supremacy. Only 10,000 showed up on January 6 - and that's when they had access to all those sites.
And after January 6, a lot of them apologized or were arrested. Most likely counting on Trump to pardon them. Trump is facing charges of treason. He pardons them, he may find himself being charged with treason.
