Really enjoying Shadow & Bone, except I'm more into the hapless thieves then I'm into the Sun Summoner storyline. Making me think I should read the Six of Crows book. Or get the audio version which has six narrators.

I want more of the Crows, and less of everyone else. The Crows are interesting and more innovative.

Also it was hilarious how the Crows and Alina inadvertently cross paths.

Book Meme - 16- 30

16: If you could bring three books to a deserted island which would you bring and why?

The Survival Handbook by Colin Towell (or something along those lines); A book about foraging and edible plants, healing, etc. And I think Swiss Family Robinson or Robinson Curoso.

I don't think I need to explain why.

17: If you owned a bookshop what would you call it?

Anything Goes

18: Which character from a book is the most like you?

I always identified a great deal with the little girl in A Wrinkle in Time, and in Judy Blooms' Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret. Also Bilbo Baggins and Frodo.

19: Which character from a book is the least like you?

Scarlett O'Hara

20: Best summer read?

Illona Andrews Magic Series - I re-read those for three summers straight, also the Game of Thrones books

21: Best winter read?

Dorothy Dunnett's Chronicles of Lymond

22: Pro or anti e-readers? Why?

Pro - easy to read on subways, you can carry over 1000 books with you anywhere. They are light. And I can enlarge the type face which makes them easy on aging eyes.

Also I'm allergic to dust and mold - e-books have neither.

23: Book Depository or Amazon?

Amazon - it published my book, and I can get any book on it very quickly, at the touch of a button.

24: Do you prefer to buy books online or in a bookshop?

Online - faster, cheaper, takes up less space, and I get to read reviews and samples. I used to prefer book shops, but the selection is slim at book shops (they cater to the evil publishing industry a tad too much and don't carry non-traditionally published books or independently published books hardly at all.) Now, I tend to buy books that aren't available in book stores - so Amazon. No waiting, no ordering, no lines, no allergies.

30: Who’s your favorite author?

Don't really have one. They always disappoint me eventually. I've yet to find a writer in which I live everything they write. James Joyce came closest for a bit...then I grew tired of him. Also, was enjoying Illona Andrews - but alas, I ran into a brick wall there too. And for a bit Neil Gaiman - but he's hit or miss.
