Year #2- Day 101
Jun. 26th, 2021 09:36 pmDidn't do much today - slept in, because I slept poorly the night before. My digestive system was keeping me awake. I don't know why.
Hot today. In the low eighties/high seventies but with humidity it felt like ninety. We had 75% humidity. Gotta love the east coast and the humidity, although it's also in the Midwest. [Kansas City was unbearable in the late summer months - I rarely went outside. Note - you couldn't pay me enough money to live in the Midwest. I lived there for 17 years - it was my own personal hell mouth. I can't speak about Chicago - even though I spent the first three years of my life there - I've no memory of it. Also can't speak for Michigan. I have family in both - so I have been to both, just don't remember them well.]
Watched some television today. Spoke to mother. Took a hot sweaty walk to Courtelyou Road to get stuff from the Health Food Store - such as menopause herbal remedies for hot flushes, protein powder (they didn't have the one I wanted), sugarless teas and drinks, and tea. It was an interesting walk. Brooklyn is kind of thriving in this semi-post pandemic world. We have lots of outdoor restaurants. Lea - the indoor/outdoor Italian place I used to frequent with MD, has turned itself into an Italian Market, Deli shop, with outdoor seating. Meanwhile across the street, a marijuana store complete with smoking devices has popped up. There's also a juicing joint, and a burger/hot dog shop with only outdoor seating. Plus outdoor Pilates in the backyard by appointment only.
Watching the city emerge in a kind of joyous flirtation of colors is kind of hopeful? Both yesterday and today, gave me a smidgen of hope that things are getting progressively better.
I also started watched S2 of Full Bloom on HBO Max. It fixed all my problems with S1. No longer do we have the false drama. The team challenge is now before the individual challenge. Also only those from the losing team compete in the solo challenge - and they do it after the team challenge. The team leaders are not selected from the winner of the solo challenge - but somewhat randomly, so everyone gets a chance to lead a team challenge at least once. Smart - since I got the feeling in S1 that no one wanted to lead the team challenges, and it was almost a punishment for winning the solo challenge. And, they got rid of the team leader's critiquing their members or vice versa, and having them choose who should go home. Finally, the crying is gone. We get less of the heartfelt crying scenes.
Much better show than the first season, with more interesting challenges.

Date: 2021-06-27 01:19 pm (UTC)NY's weather well - we aren't getting the heavy rains, just a lot of humidity and unsettled weather.
A lot of over-cast days with no rain or spots of it. It's actually been rather mild, with intermittent periods of heat, and rain.
