I'm taking Friday off - so four day weekend. I want a break from crazy workplace.
Not all my co-workers are following the mask protocols. They insist it's personal choice. I've given up. I wear the mask and try to stay clear.
Another employee at crazy agency died of COVID this week. Change of pace, he wasn't retired, also worked in operations - so not a co-worker. To my knowledge - I've not had a direct co-worker die of it. Six degrees of separation and all that.
Oh, and apparently there was an incident on one of the trains traveling to Ronkonoma today. 20 year old man was shot and killed on the train at 2am this morning.
I found out about it - because we got an email at work telling us all not to share pictures of the crime site or shooting online, on social media or with each other. (Apparently people had been.) And that if you did - you would be met with disciplinary action - or those who had done so - would be.
So I looked it up - because all the email said was not to share photos of the incident that occurred at Ronkonoma train station.

Not much to report outside of that. Oh, after reading numerous reviews, and
comparisons - I decided to order the Amazon Kindle Signature Paperwhite - with the trade-in, the whole bundle valued at $249.46 was in actuality $175.31. So I saved $74.15. Not bad. Highly recommend the trade-in option if you can do it. I got a $25.00 gift certificate and 20% off my next Kindle purchase.
Unfortunately only the cover arrives this week, the rest arrives sometime between March 11 - April 16. I have no clue why there's such a huge delay. If I'd gotten the Kindle Oasis - it would be next week. But I got talked out of it. It's more expensive - about $349, with discount $249 and some. And the only reason to get it is the buttons. I'm used to the touchscreen. Plus speed of delivery. But I can survive until April.
It'll be a late birthday gift.
Also need to get myself a new Robot Vacuum, another arm chair or couch, and a linen cabinet, plus book shelves, but I'm dragging my feet. I hate buying things - or rather I hate making choices and spending money.
Anyhow enough of that.
