1. Beautiful weekend, I should frolic in it. But low energy and a desire to just veg...have kind of downplayed that. But I'm grateful it's lovely - particularly since a co-worker is doing the triborough bike race today.

Also sunshine makes me happy.

2. People on Twitter bewilder me.

They post something controversial or negative, then act shocked the next day when they are inundated with angry notifications. Or folks have ganged up on them or a fight broke out in their "mentions" (direct replies to their post).

I don't know where they think they are posting this stuff on? A personal blog? Because it's not. It's a marketing platform - that is specifically designed to get responses and to spread information or ads.

There's been a couple of interesting kerfuffles. One was between the academic soap viewers who thought you needed a masters degree or were a professional actor/writer to criticize the writing, editing, acting, and costume design on a soap.

Poster: I have two masters degrees and I think the writing on GH is amazing.
ME: Two masters degrees doesn't mean much of anything, unless of course you are the scarecrow in the Wizard of Oz.

[It also shows you either managed to persuade someone to give you loans, have a lot of money, or can't make up your mind and happen to like taking tests, listening to lectures, and writing long papers that few people will ever take the time to read.]

Unless you are applying for a job right out of college, or for a job in a specific field that requires these degrees - such as a professor in a University, they don't mean squat. I know because I review resumes constantly in my current occupation - we procure consultants and contractors, and we don't care what their educational background is - so much as whether they have a license, and experience.

The other interesting kerfuffle - which happens in every fandom I've ever been on. Is..."this character takes up too much screen time and I hate them" fight.

Doctor Who - they whined about River Song (who was barely in it).
Vamp Diaries - it was Damon.
Angel - Spike (who was barely in it)
Buffy - Spike (also barely in it)
General Hospital - Carly (whose barely in it at the moment)
BattleStar Galatica - Starbuck or Apollo

It's always my favorite characters they are whinging about for some reason or other. (Although, it helped that I had a lot of favorite characters in each series - or I wouldn't be watching it. Which allowed me to ignore the whiny fans.)

Both kerfuffles are not unique to GH. I see them in every single fandom. It's why I'm leery of fandom and keep a safe distance. I may dip in from time to time, but I won't invest again.

I love this ..."If you hate such and such pairing, you should stop watching." Folks this is a television show that is dependent on ratings (sometimes subscriptions). If people stop watching, you won't have the television series. Just ignore these fans.

Seriously, some people don't have any common sense.

Twitter: I'm upset the mute button is broken and I can't use it. It made Twitter usable.
ME: It's not broken, I can still use it.

Littered among all the whining, Soap Twitter is very whiny, is posts about being kind and mental illness awareness.

It's easy enough to lock your twitter account, if they want to post their opinions without any pushback, but something tells me that they just want attention or just think they're constantly right.

Poster: I have two masters degrees and I think the writing on GH is amazing.
This reminds me of this one person that I used to know who thought having a postgrad degree and speaking 5 languages validated their ridiculous theories.
