shadowkat1. ST: If pregnancy is a choice than we shouldn't allow maternity leave.
Me: What? That makes no sense. Maternity Leave is required for the continued health of the baby and child, and has zip to do with whether you choose to have a baby or not.

2. Television Weather forecaster (yesterday morning): It's overcast all day long, there will be no sunshine. Probably rain.
I look outside and it's a blue sky without a cloud in it. I'm thinking they don't have a window?
Television Weather Forecaster today: it will rain most of the day, clearing towards nightfall, overcast, no sun.
I walk outside after work - it's warmer, and sunny, and barely a cloud in the sky.
Hmm. There's unreliable and then well...
3. Gossip
ME: Would you like to hear some gossip about a soap opera actor?
Mother: Ohhh? Yes!
Me: Well the guy who played Jason on GH just announced on Instagram that he's separated from his wife of 23 years, who is expecting her fourth child and it's not his. He will continue to co-parent the three kids they already have.
Mother: Whoa. Oh god. That's...wow.
Me: Yup. And he shared this on social media no less.
Mother: He was angry. He'd never have shared it if he wasn't furious.
Me: Most likely true. But it hurt him. I feel sorry for him.
Mother: So do I.
Me: I mean he's had a tough year. He got COVID. He lost his job because he won't get vaccinated. And now he finds out his wife cheated on him and is having a kid with another man. He got a tattoo recently...possibly to deal with it.
Mother: a Tattoo?
ME: I don't understand the tattoo...and not getting vaxxed. But I know folks at crazy workplace that are the same way, so what can you do? Anyhow Soap Twitter was having a blast over it.
Sometimes I wonder if I'm masochistic following Soap Twitter? It's reminding me of why I have issues with ahem, certain aspects or rather areas of fandom.
Also it reminded me of a quote I saw on Twitter recently - "be careful about sharing your business with folks. There are some who will use it to talk about you with others."
I'm trying not to do that. Although I kind of did there. Didn't I? Oh well.
