1. Not feeling great today - blaming it on lack of sleep? Post nasal drip - leading to scratchy throat. Possibly seasonal allergies. Although...talked to Chidi, who was also feeling kind of "off" today. Fatigued, tired, not quite with it. We decided we could slug it out one more day. Also seem to be getting an uggy throat. This is not good - I can't afford to get sick work wise at the moment. (Of course, if I get it - it was most likely from work. My Crazy workplace is trying to kill me again.)

On the PCR test? The sample was defective. So I have to do it again, if I want a result. I'm doing it tomorrow morning. Won't bring it in from home.

Cases are on the rise again in NY due to different variants. In my area, it varies daily between 3-8% infection rates.

Mask wearing is about 20/80% for the most part. Work it's more like 60/40%.
I've gotten used to ignoring the people who aren't wearing them. I'm still wearing my KN94 masks.

2. Picked up new glasses today. Got two pairs. Very pleased, it was difficult wearing the broken glasses to read at night.

They are lighter and better than the previous glasses. Also everyone was wearing masks in the store - and masks were now mandatory in the store. When before they'd been optional.

3. Went grocery shopping. Some were wearing masks, most weren't .

Weirdest thing? I no longer find red meat appetizing. Actually the thought of it makes me gag. I can still do proscuttio and bacon, but I'm not crazy about it. But not steak or hamburger. But I love celery (I used to hate celery), and I like broccoli (used to hate broccoli), but I don't really like green beans any longer.

It's weird. A college friend thinks this is due to metroformin or a side-effect. So basically metroformin turns you into a pseudo-vegetarian (fish and poultry are still fair game, which is odd). She said statin's can cause aches in the muscles and to take 200-300 mg of CoQ10, whatever that is. (I feel like I've become a walking pharmacy. Good news? Due to the decreased food intake and change in diet, I maybe able to get off of the pepcid.)

4. Finished contemporary romance novel - "rock hard by Naglini Singh" who normally writes paranormal romances. (Maybe those are better? Wouldn't know, haven't read them). It bored me. And the writing is sloppy. I was annoyed. I'm kind of methodological or very detail oriented. So certain things will bug me.

Too much wondering about when they could have wild rough sex and not enough story. Contemporaries are horrid in that respect.

For a necessary change of pace (since romances were beginning to bore me), currently reading Fantasy series "Throne of Glass", three books in one. Will let you know if I stick with it. It's about a female assassin taken out of the slave mines to serve at the Royal Court, I don't know anything else.

5. I keep spacing what I want to say next...this is horrible..I've been spacing it for two days now..ah, now I remember.

I've been walking through the television set of Gossip Girl2 on my way to and from the train station all week long. I don't see anyone - but then again I don't watch the show and don't know the stars, so wouldn't know.
Not that I necessarily would anyhow - people don't look the same off camera. Some look better on camera, some worse. (I fit in the worse category. Mirrors and cameras hate me.)

All I see are the big trucks, studio lights, and lots of people standing around doing nothing but looking bored or looking at their phones. Honestly television shoots are dull, so are film shoots. I know this just by walking past them for the past twenty some years.

That's weird about the metformin and red meat - I've been on metformin for years and I haven't noticed that side effect!

I *am* going to try the CoQ10 though - I have the worst muscle pains and am taking simvastatin - so it's totally worth a try! It's not particularly cheap - but the best price I found was for 300mg softgels Kirkland brand from Costco (I don't have a Costco membership, but people sell Kirkland stuff on amazon)

I have read all of Nalini Singh's paranormal stuff - I really like her Guild Hunter series - the Psy-Changeling series started out really good - the last few haven't been quite as good, I didn't think.

Hope you feel better quickly!
