Television/Movie Theme Songs [Yes, this is its own genre, I defy any one to claim otherwise - you can even find it on Spotify, Amazon Music and Apple I Tunes. Just as James Bond Theme Songs is a subgenre of it.)

Television theme songs are tricky for me to judge because music can grow on me, the more I listen to it, so simply binging on a show can, after a few seasons, cause me to like music that perhaps doesn't intrinsically deserve it! For instance, I think that happened with Banshee, whose music I don't now even recall. Or, if I'm involved with the production of a musical, after enough rehearsals I like many of the songs.

I get that.

I have a tendency to buy soundtracks to television series. I bought the Sopranoes, the Wire, Buffy, and True Blood for example. I loved the songs they used that much.

For TV and movie themes, the best grab you within a few notes, then stick in your brain forever:

You went with score or original score and themes, as opposed to songs. I screwed up and snuck a score or theme into the songs.

Good choices though. And agreed the best grab you then become ear worms that will not let go.
Or you recognize the moment they are played.

I like a lot of these. Of course there's a difference to me in the Movie category between instrumental and pop song. Love that song from Greatest Showman and agree that L&LD is probably the best Bond theme. Of course, I could probably list 5 favorite Bond themes!

In terms of TV theme songs, I agree with those first two. I think my other three might be the Mission Impossible and Hawaii 5-0 themes and Miami Vice theme.

I kind of screwed up - because they should have just been songs and not scores. But I snuck the Raider's march in there. Original Score is different from song of course for Movies. Television isn't often scored, although Miami Vice was, as was Mission Impossible, Buffy, and Hawaii 5-0.

I may do that as well. Seriously this meme could take forever.
