A plea for a little advice on DVD/book buying from anyone out there whose bought these things:

I'm considering buying the following items from Amazon.com as a sort of belated gift to myself. I've been lusting after some of them for a while now, but am uncertain about the quality.

1. Buffy S7 DVD - has anyone purchased this DVD on my flist? If so, could
you please tell me if it's worth $38.99? (Not the episodes in the season - I don't care if you liked the season or not, been there, done that...what I want to know is if the quality of the picture is up to par with S5 DVDs and if I should just stick with my tapes or wait until I find it on sale some day in the distant future?)

2. Buffy S6 DVD - same deal as above. (can't see getting 6 without 7. I have 5 already. Have considered getting 4. Have no interest in the first three seasons. What I want to know is if the extras, quality of DVDs, Sound, etc are worth the price?)

3. Angel S5 DVD - ditto.

4. Wonderfalls DVD - is it worth 29.99?? I found it funny and quirky, but am not sure if I'll be disappointed in the rest of the episodes.

Anyone??

I keep considering and I keep talking myself out of it. Lots of wassaling. The practical side of me just won't let me do it. Need a little encouragement?

Yes, I have all of them. IMO the picture quality is just so much better than what I got off of my local UPN station and of course, there are the commentaries and featurettes. Besides the usual cast of characters : Joss, David, Drew G., Marti, etc. on the Season 7 disc you get JM, DB, Danny, Tom and NB doing commentary. The featurettes on Season 7 are very nice but the outtakes aren't particularly interesting. Season 6 has quite a bit on OWMF so if you're fond of that episode it really is worth the expense.
The AtS Season 5 has nice commentaries by both cast and crew and they also have an interesting selection of featurettes. Their gag reel is actually funny and quite sweet.
If you want to give yourself a treat and money isn't a problem, then I would definitely recommend purchase.

I bought both Seasons 6 and 7 Region 2 DVD's when they first came out. I paid €85 for each set, so $39 sounds like an absolute bargain! The picture quality is fine and the presentation is very nice.

... um ...isn't " wassaling " a kind of christmas-singing thingie ? ;-P
WaFFaling ????
ANWAY ... I would say " GO FOR IT ! " ...only because you NEED to treat yourself to a luxury once in a while to keep up morale ! Yeah troops ! ;-P
In MY opinion, "the practical side" of us all is the side that grows up to be the old person who stands out in front of their house and gripes at the kids playing in the street. ( damn kids ! ) ;-P

I found this on friendsfriends

I have all the seasons of Buffy and Angel. The quality of the picture is so much better than my tapes, and all the extra features are neat. If you haven't seen more of Wonderfalls than what was shown on TV in the U.S., you definitely need to see the rest of the series. I have the whole thing on tape, and I am going to get the DVDs as soon as I can. I loved the whole thing, and even though it was cancelled, it still works as a miniseries, with the arc nicely completed.
