Happy 2023...

shadowkatVery happy to be in a new year. Television seems to be better - I'm almost positive it's "optimum" and not the television set. Since mother's television has similar issues.
Watched a couple of movies today, and the first episode of Peaky Blinders, which I may stick with.
The movies?
Batman Begins - which I'd forgotten. I was on a Christian Bale kick. (I have a limited number of actors that I still follow around. Bale is among them. He's kind of a modern day, more attractive Dustin Hoffman - in that he can disappear or immerse himself into any role. Russell Crow can also do this.)
Top Gun: Maverick - eh, I liked the first movie better. It had a better supporting cast. This one, just had Jon Hamm, and a cameo by Val Kilmer. Miles Teller - meh, he's no Anthony Edwards. And Glenn Powell isn't close to Kilmer, nor is Ham close to Tom Skerritt. And Jennifer Connelly can't compete with Kelly McGillis.
The aerial shots didn't impress me. I was kind of bored during them.
Right now the movie critics and I are not on the same page.
Weirdly, the best and most enjoyable movies that I've seen this month are The Last Duel, Glass Onion, and Bullet Train. Yes, I'm surprised by this too.

Focus is off though. I keep getting distracted by things.
While I was visiting mother, she asked that I take possession of my Dad's paintings once she is gone. Or take care of them. Also, wanted to know if I wanted his art supplies and wooden briefcase that he used to put them in.
Here's more of his paintings...they are all watercolors. He preferred that medium to oil or acrylic, as do I.
My father, like the rest of my family, is a minimalist when it comes to art.
