Jan. 2nd, 2023 09:29 pm1. Upcoming 2023 Television Series Premiere Dates.
2. Henry Cavill was cast as the lead in The Rosie Project
3. The 23 Most Anticipated Television Series according to Variety and According to TV Guide - also includes books to television adaptations.
And according to.. Cosmopolitan - which actually has the fantasy ones.
* Lockwood and Co - about a bunch of British Teen Ghost Hunters, looks rather good. "
Watch: Most Likely To with Knives Out 2 cast
If you like a touch of the supernatural, you'll want to add this one into your calendar. Lockwood & Co comes to Netflix in January, following a group of teenage ghost hunters in London. It's based on the book series by author Jonathan Stroud and also stars Bridgerton's Ruby Stokes (Francesca Bridgerton). A winning combo, if you ask us.
Release date: 27 January on Netflix."
* Shadow & Bone is finally returning with S2 in March.
* Doctor Who is returning in November 2023...
"The BBC has confirmed that Doctor Who is returning in November 2023, with Sex Education's Ncuti Gatwa on board as the brand new Doctor. SO exciting!
Three special episodes are launching in November with David Tennant back in the iconic role, before Ncuti takes over as the Fifteenth Doctor during the festive season. This one can't come soon enough."
It's going to be on the BBC and Disney +.
* Squid Game S2 is back - for those who liked it. (Not for me.)
* As is the Mandalorian S3
We also have Bridgerton returning for S3, along with the prequel about Queen Charlotte.
God, there's a lot of television shows. I'm working my way through the last season of Legacies, and planning to watch Peaky Blinders.
4. And oh dear...here's the the most anticipated movies of 2023 - lots of superhero films and unnecessary sequels to franchises, plus a few necessary ones. Oh, and DC is finally releasing: The Flash (the back in time film - which is now a stand-a-lone and the last of the Snyder era Justice League series of films), Aquaman 2, and The Blue Beetle. These are all the pre-James Gunn DC films that were clearly made prior to Gunn's take over as show-runner.
We also have Barbie, Mission Impossible 6? or is it 10? (I lost count), Reinfield (Nic Cage is Dracula now, which actually works...), a lot of horror films, origin stories of fictional anti-heroes which I'm not sure we need? (Snow from the Hunger Games, and Willy Wonka), Dune's sequel, another Indiana Jones film...and more Marvel films (2 - Quantamania and the Marvels (I'm more interested in The Marvels).)
[That's a lot of movies.]
