Well, I may have found a solution to the annoying Ao3 problem - I'm transferring some of the posts to my Word Press blog, so not just to SquidgeWorld. The Word Press Blog is my personal blog entitled The Outrider Chronicles under my own name (ie. I set the rules).

Some of this stuff, I'll probably just outright delete and not save - such as the Vampire Diaries Recaps and True Blood Recaps. Others I'll save elsewhere.

We'll see.

What's weird - is they haven't deleted anything they told me they were going to delete. (Prarie Home Companion, Good Night and Good Luck, Million Dollar Baby, all are still there as movie reviews - and all had been tagged in emails as posts they considered against the rules, yet they aren't tagged or hidden on the site or deleted. Also, they have kudos. Maybe they are afraid to delete them? IDK. )

I don't know what they are up to?

Goal is to hopefully clean out the fridge this weekend. Sleep. Work on my novel and watercolors. Maybe see Wales. Sleep some more. Renew my lease.
Set up doctor appointments. Sleep.

Mainly sleep and relax.

I got a lot more done this week than expected.

So there is that, at least.

The Viola Davis book is...well...she's currently relating how she physically got down on her knees and prayed to God for a boyfriend (she was rather specific about it - she wanted a big black guy (not necessarily black but it would be nice), a football player, who could drive (she was terrified to do it), from the South, from the Country, Kind, Supportive of her career, and accomodating) and a few days later, maybe a week (?) he miraculously appeared out of the blue at the television show she was working and changed her life for the better. All she had to do in return was go to church with him. She'd promised God she'd go back to church.

And it was going so well...now, I'm kind of annoyed.

Although it could change. Her husband's name is David not Julius, I think. And this guy's name is Julius.

AO3 is too busy pissing even more people off to actually follow through, I guess.

I didn't realize they were pissing off other people? So it's not just me? LOL! Note to Ao3 - if you open the thing to meta, don't suddenly get weirdly snippy about it.

Also, it's apparently a repository for famous writer's fanfiction. (I found that out on Twitter - Cat Valente was all excited because she'd found fanfiction from a famous and beloved professional writer on it - that she was going to read.)

It's actually the repository for a number of authors' fanfiction. Marvel's Eternals director Chloé Zhao mentioned publicly that she has fanfiction on it.

Regarding the deletions though, has your suspension ended yet? If not I don't think they delete it until then.

No, the suspension ends on June 12. But they didn't remove the prior stuff that threatened to remove two years ago.

Also they are apparently pissing off other people besides myself, which is interesting.

I hope people are saving their fanfiction elsewhere - that site is pissing people off. I'm not vindicative - I don't believe in seeking vengeance, I leave that to the Universe. But other people are.

Oh, oddly the suspension doesn't prevent me from copying and pasting my content to other sites...which is interesting. I don't A03 is worth saving, at this point, it's run by nitwits.

They are pissing people off because of failure to act decisively on racist abuse/tagging (I don't really understand the ins and outs of it) and also because some board member said something about AI "fics" made by scraping other people's actual work were okay.

I didn't know about the AI bit, but I did find the information about the racism. They are allowing racist fic, racist comments, and tagging.

Damn. I feel validated by my disdain and whinging about Ao3 for the last two years.

And those assholes had the audacity to suspend my account just because I posted reviews and episode reviews? I told them that they should be going after the real violators.

Squidgeworld is better - they only forbid racist/bigoted content, child exploitation, and anything AI. In short the exact opposite of Ao3. An organization is only as good as the people who run it and volunteer for it.
