Ah...I have 37 pages (1.5 spaced, not quite double, not single - that happy in between, yes, I know if I want to publish the thing, I'll have to probably do the double eventually. But it is friggin hard to write on a computer screen with wide spaces and see what you are doing. Also the net has given me bad habits - I've gotten lazy spacing and formatting wise. Here you can just write blithly without pressing the enter button and there is no such thing as double space. Unless you're a fan of html formatting - and that's a whole different ballgame.) The story has a title, which is a good thing. It's snarky too, which may explain the tone of voice you see in these entries after I've spent time working on it.

Snarky day outside too. Weather can't make up it's mind. It's sunny yet has threatening dark gray cloud cover, no blue that I can see. Sort of chilly, like sitting in a room that is over-airconditioned. Not cold. Just chilly.
Made me want to lie in bed all morning long. Didn't. Drug myself out and wrote.
Like a good girl.

Considering dragging myself off to see Hitchhiker's Guide to the Glaxay at the local theater. Made the decision not to see the flick with anyone who is a fan of the book or tv series or radio series. Don't want to spend the whole movie listening to them moan beside me or mouth bits along with the show. Wales might be a safe bet on this one - assuming she's up and about. Regarding the Serenity flick - please keep all spoilers and reviews to yourselves. I don't want to know anything until I see it. Fresne's post basically told me everything I wanted to know about it - ie. It's worth the price of admission and a definite movie to see.

Debating doing the interest compatibility meme I've been threatening - but I have a feeling I'd just piss off half my flist. So better not.

The day decided to be pretty and sunny and warm. Which was nice. Took a little walk. Picked up a few odds and ends. Wasted an hour and a half trying to install a Brita Water purification system on my sink facet (the one they keep advertising on the telly), only to finally declare defeat. Takes me a while to give up on something - I'll try everything I can think of first, especially if it cost me money. I even took apart the nozel on my faucet, then put it back on. Wasted the money and the time. Have decided to speak to my landlord about the possibility of getting a new faucet - after taking it apart - discovered how truly gross it was. Very glad I've been drinking Poland Spring Water for the last six years, not tap, or if tap, rarely or through Brita filters. Any doubts about drinking the Poland Spring went out the window after taking apart that nozzle.

Water. When did it become expensive?

Just watched two more Wonderfalls episodes - really enjoying this little series. Identify with the heroine quite a bit, which I'm not sure is necessarily a good thing. Got bogged down a bit in the Mail Order Bride episode, that and my mother called, then it was time to watch JL Unlimited, which I keep missing because I either forget it's on or when I remember it's a rerun I've seen more than once. This one was nifty - Superman vs. Doomsday (in the comics - Superman died at Doomsday's hands - I have the limited series, if anyone wants it. Or rather my parents do, I think it's in Hilton Head. One of these days I'm going to get around to selling my comics collection on Ebay. Assuming of course anyone wants it.), but the best part of the episode was the Batman bits. JL Unlimited Doomsday episode spoilers for those who care about this stuff )

Wrote a little more on my story, working on Chapter 3 at the moment. Building up a new character. This character's voice is a tad snarky - hence the tone of the journal. Also a little foul-mouthed. Actually all the characters are a bit on the snarky side...not sure this is a good thing or a bad thing. Oh well, will worry about it later. Assignment for this week is to go with the flow and see what happens. No worrying allowed. We'll see if I succeed. Haven't so far.
Spoke to Wales on the phone - we're doing Hitchhiker's Guide tomorrow at 1pm, the $5 showing. She was working on a list (or meme) of her neuroses or rather: "If I didn't do these things, I wouldn't be so neurotic". Heh. Some of the items on her list fit me - so I found it oddly reassuring, even though I kept arguing with her and saying, uhm, sorry, but you don't do that. She said she wasn't comfortable in her own skin. (Wales is the most comfortable person I've met in her own skin outside of maybe my pal pumpkinpuss. Me? Not so much.)
The other thing she said that made me cackle - was "If verbal self-abuse were a crime, I'd have you arrested". A friend told her that. Lovely. If it were a crime? I'd certainly be in jail serving a life sentence.

Oh - PSA announcement - I had Clean Space 8 on my system to deal with spyware?
Well got infected with a Trojan Horse virus, which my Norton's just detected and quarantined and I've deleted. Might want to be careful with internet spyware services. I'm thinking of asking my companies information security department for tips on which ones to get.

The day is almost over damnmit! (How does one spell damnmit anyways? I did pretty well on that English Test thing that's making its way around my friend's list, believe it or not. English Genius. 100% of Intermediate. 86% of the Advanced, 86% of Expert or something like that. I bet the ones I missed were morale (can never remember if there's an e on the end or not), hung/hanged, and a while/awhile/for awhile. I blame French class for the e problem, not sure I can blame it on the others. Glad I did well on that test. Was a little skittish about taking it as pathetic as that sounds, since it is just an online test put up by some internet blogger. Why? Because I'm defensive about my writing.

Hmmm...not really sure where some of these musings come from. There are days that I sit at my screen and just write and here's what comes out.
