Knowing someone who was personally affected by this disaster, brings it home to me in a new way. Can you imagine sitting in your office, working, worrying, then getting the phone call confirming that your kid brother, mother, or father or someone equally and terribly close was killed in an earthquake millions of miles away, and you can do nothing - you can't race to their aid?
