1.Insane TV Salaries To Make You Say Huh? This from [livejournal.com profile] wisteria which concerns the insane salaries that tv actors and commentators receive. And yes, they are insane. Actors in procedural shows and suprisingly enough, Elliot Spitzer (you remember the NY Governor who used public funds to pay for sex, while he was prosecuting other people for doing the same thing - nah, we're not a nation of shallow hypocrites), actually make more than the president of the united states, governors, teachers, firemen, people defusing bombs in Iraq, and airplane pilots. This is our fault folks. Blame ourselves. (Spitzer is making $500,000, Hugh Laurie - 400,000 per episode, Charlie Sheen - 1.2 million or is that 2.1 million per episode, and David Boreanze (who has made quite a living out of looking either constipated or gleeful) is making $200,000 an episode. The women are notably making much less. Jane Lynch of Glee is only making 50,000 per episode. Yes the world is not fair, it is merely capitalistic and run by insane popular opinion.

2. Okay, what's up with all the postings about IDW losing the Angel Series license to Dark Horse? What's this mean? Is it true? Are they just letting Dark Horse borrow the characters for a bit?? How did it happen? Is it just gossip? Is Lynch not doing Spike anymore (because that would sort of suck - I really don't care about any of the other comics, just the Lynch Spike comics. He's going to do a Dru/Spike reunion, and a Willow/Spike reunion.)

3. The Mosque War continues in NYC. The latest? David Patterson, our esteemed if somewhat hapless governor, has decided that maybe we should just move the Mosque across town or to a different location. Yeah, that's a swell idea - except for the 100s of Muslims who work and live in the area who were sort of hoping for a place to quietly pray and congregate like normal people. They are currently doing this in noisy basements. Sure, we're all for freedom of religion, just as long as it is our own religion that is getting all the freedom. Really, don't want that other guy getting any freedom - he looks disreputable. Sigh, neo-conservative Libertarians...they want the right to poop in your pool, but they throw a regular hissy fit if you poop in theirs.

4. Pakistan is drowning literally. While Moscow is literally burning. Hope the folks on my flist that are located near or in either place are okay? You are, right? I vaguely remember seeing folks list Pakistan and Russia, specifically Moscow, the last time I did a where are you living poll. Did read in the paper this morning that Moscow will drop to the 70s Farenheit or the 20s C this week. They've been in 40s C or 100s Farenheit. This is Moscow folks. It doesn't normally get that hot up there. Yet another sign of Global Warming. And Pakistan is covered in water, with over half the population starving and in dire need of shelter and assistance. Ripe for the Taliban. (This is why I don't watch the news, there's zip I can do here, except donate money and from last reports - aid is slow in arriving.)

5. Despite what the Metro and you all may think - I actually am interested in UK and Canadian politics, for that matter, granted have no time to read up on them but still... It's actually more entertaining than US politics, which gives me a headache. Much rather analyze Cameron's mistakes than Obama's thank you very much, particularly since I don't have any issues with Obama - he's doing more or less what I thought he'd do. He's a pragmaticist - that's why I voted for him. He's not going to change the world or even US politics for that matter - he got elected President, people, not God. Get a grip. No one person can change politics or even government for that matter - it's not possible.
