1. Workweek has been too exhausting and stressful for me to torture myself unnecessarily by watching the Presidential Debate. Also discussing politics online is not good for my sleep patterns or health. I tend to go into rant mode. And no good comes of that.
Anyhow...conversation at end of the day.

I actually had something close to this argument with a libertarian law student once. It was fun. Granted it's worth noting he was from Western Kansas, rural farmland, never been anywhere else, where you have one car every hour at a four way stop, left turn signals are sort of pointless in those situations. In NYC on the other hand, not so much.
The above blockquote was made up by me, they didn't actually have that debate or at least I sincerely hope they didn't. If they did, I fear for my country and am moving to New Zealand once I win the lottery.
2. Finished watching The Good Wife last night, and episode 3 of Call the Midwife tonight, enjoyed both. The Good Wife remains the most entertaining tv show that I've been watching all year.
The thing I love about The Good Wife is that the leads are my age. Mid-life. It's a mid-life crisis series for women. BB and Mad Men are Mid-life crisis series for men. We need at least one.
And the court cases are actually interesting and realistic and not always about death.
Usually they are civil cases - which I prefer. Civil Law is actually more interesting than Criminal Law and far more complicated and unpredictable. More ambiguity. At any rate, outside of the lack-lustre Kalinda sub-plot that isn't really going anywhere, S4 of The Good Wife is great. One show that continues to get good with age like wine.
3. Reading Carrie Fisher's second memoir about mental illness...Shockaholic which at the moment is more whiny than entertaining, and is focusing a lot on what it is like to undergo electroshock therapy. Apparently this is an effective method of treating long-term depressive disorders, with the somewhat annoying side-effect of short-term memory loss or memory loss of weird things, such as no longer being able to remember the word "practical".
Or certain words in general. Has to be grating for a writer, yet she continues to write, continues to get published, and makes a lot of money at it. Go figure.
I bought the book for the Hollywood gossip, specifically about Star Wars, which was advertised on Good Reads, but we haven't gotten there yet. I really need to figure out how to borrow library books on my Kindle.
4. Revenge gave me a headache trying to follow it on Sunday night, so I gave up, and decided to try again later this week when I'm less mentally exhausted. Don't think tonight's the night, somehow. Maybe read and bed?
5. Random wet-behind the ears blog on Buffy S7/Angel s4 re or new watch..came up with a couple of points that I want to comment on without linking to his/her/it's/their blog. Since I don't want you to link there, I'm deliberately paraphrasing. Ignore the source, read the content.

Obama: We should have left turn signals.
Romeny: Sorry, don't think the government should be paying for left-turn signals, far too expensive. We could save a bundle by doing away with left-turn signals and just spend all our money on a war with Iran.
Obama: Left turn signals prevent traffic accidents and save lives. Plus employ traffic workers, and repair men. And we're not going to War with Iran, that's expensive and insane.
Romney: No it's not, we must go to war with Iran. And Americans can figure out when to make a left-turn without needing a left-turn signal. Without left-turn signals, we save on the costs of repair, and can redirect the money towards auto shops who have to fix the cars.
