Oct. 18th, 2012 09:49 pm1. Well the fake spider that has been jolting me each day in the window at the top of the foyer...disappeared. I came home from work tonight and discovered it was not there. Odd, it was definitely there this morning. I know because I was congratulating myself for not yelping, jerking yes, yelping no, when I passed by it.
Okay, where did it go?
I checked out the foyer, the hallway, carefully checked the ceilings, and the skylight. Anywhere, people might stick a fake spider. Also checked all the windows and fire-escape, along with the back yard. But the fake spider appears to have completely vanished.
Me: Happy 70th Birthday Mom. Good news, I think, the spider is gone. Came home and it was not there. The other fake spiders were there. But this one, the one plaguing me, is gone. I checked the hallways and the windows and the skylight. I know it can't be in my apartment, although I did sort of check.
Momster: It's FAKE, it can't crawl into your apartment.
ME: Well yeah, even if it was real it can't crawl into my apartment. It's too big. But I did make sure it wasn't lurking outside the door or on the ceiling nearby.
Momster: You know it can't crawl up there right? It's FAKE, not real.
Me: Of course I know that...but hey, it never hurts to check. I mean someone could have put it up there. (Sigh, the Momster has no imagination.)
I'm guessing that someone other than me complained about the spider. For the record, I never complained. Or it fell and got removed. Or my father's pet theory, someone stole it - although not sure who. Will have to ask at some point.
2. It would really help a great deal if I could remember to tape the new tv shows. I totally forgot about Arrow being on Wed. For some reason I assumed it was on Fridays. Anyhow I forgot to tape it, so didn't see it - this happened with Last Resort too, which is why I just gave up, well that and the fact that I like Big Bang Theory and Vamp Diaries a lot more (they are opposite Last Resort and the DVR can only handle two shows at a time - one must make choices). I also forgot to tape Hart of Dixie and that new Doctor show with Meryl Streep's daughter. After a while, one just stops remembering or caring about tv shows. Life gets busy and takes up the memory space once reserved for remembering when to tape or watch tv shows. This is not a bad thing. Considering my DVR is getting crowded with tv shows that I keep forgetting to watch or just can't find the time or energy to watch...really don't need to keep adding to it.
Did remember to tape Nashville but I don't know - the story isn't exactly thrilling me. Watched 15 minutes of it last night, got bored, and went to bed, will try to watch it again tomorrow night. I love Connie Britton, but not in this role. And the series feels very...soapy, bad soapy, not good soapy. Revenge is good soapy. It's not cliche, you can tell the people apart, and is fun. Nashville is sort of silly and hard to tell the people apart or care. Also I liked Smash more - it had better musical numbers and was more fun.
