Ah, I'm getting email notifications again. Also feeling better pain-wise today. The shot worked. As did the therapy. And now, I have oxy-codeine/acetampheine, in case I have severe pain. Yay me.

Co-worker came by today to ask about Supernatural - I explained it to him. Apparently he'd caught a recent episode. Decided after my quick run-down, not for him. I truly am a tv culture geek. It's embarrassing how much I know about this medium. Co-worker adores Grimm (sorry no strong female characters who are leads, so I have the same issues with it as Supernatural long-term. I'm willing to make allowances if the writing is fantastic, and its just not on Grimm ( ie: Justified or Breaking Bad quality). Also it's too late to get into it without renting and I just am watching far too many tv shows as it is. In case you do not believe me, I'm about to give you a list. Or at least a list of the one's I remember. You know it's too many when you can't remember half of them.

Eh, it's late. I'm stopping now. Still plugging through A Dance With Dragons - about 25% of the way through now and I finally understand the point of the Tyrion chapters which finally got interesting. As are the Dany chapters. Wish I could say the same about Jon and Davos. Also GRRM is either a frustrated chef or a frustrated war historian, can't figure out which. The man is obsessed with two things: 1) food, and 2) battle strategy/war history.
There's very little sex in these books - it's referred to, but obliquely. GRRM really isn't into sex. He'd rather plot out character's lineage. Well that and torture scenes. The man is definitely a horror writer. Reminiscent of Stephen King. Not surprising that King now adores him.
