Jun. 7th, 2016 07:08 pm1. Social media and the professional media (if you can call it that) are fighting over whether Hillary snagged the Democratic Nod and if she did it fairly. (Seriously? It's not like the superdelegates just popped up, folks. They've been around since 1968 or so, which is roughly 46 years.)
Is it just me or has social media been fighting over the candidates since last August? The rest of the world must think this is the longest running election on the planet.
World: US? Get on with it already. How frigging long do you need to choose a President? It's not even like you have that many parties. And honestly, how hard it is to choose one? Choose whomever is not Trump.
US: Give us a little time. We're fine. Honest.
World: Oh, okay...but if you pick Trump, we're officially disowning you. Just so you know.
US: Hey...I said, we're fine. It will be fine.
World: You do realize Trump is the equivalent of a used car salesman, right? And we're all laughing at you?
US: We're fine.
For the record? I don't like anyone running. If I had to rank them? It would be Jill Stein, Hillary, Bernie, everyone else on the planet including talking dogs and cats, Trump. But I'll vote for whoever is the Democratic nominee. I'd like a woman president, not because she's a woman, but because I don't like any of the men currently running for President or any political office at the moment. [ETA: To clarify - I voted for Obama because he was the best person for the job not because he happened to be black, and I will vote for Hillary Clinton because she is the best person for the job not because she happens to be female. I don't vote or choose people based on gender, sexual orientation, race, etc. I choose them based on who they are.] If it were up to me, we'd have 8 more years of Obama.
2. The tale of two judges.
Trump wants the Judge who is ruling against him on Trump University and not throwing the case out of court, dismissed. Why because, according to Trump, he's Hispanic, and prejudiced against Trump for wanting to build a wall to keep the Mexicans out. (Seriously, there's actually a Trump University and people actually maxed out their credit cards to attend it. And this is the person people are voting and campaigning for President? )
I think sometimes that Trump has confused running for President with hosting the Apprentice. On the other hand, hey, at least he's honest. Transparency.
The entire social media, with few exceptions, and the media are calling for the dismissal of the judge who gave a convicted rapist the equivalent of a slap on a wrist because he didn't want to destroy the man's career as a swimmer. (Sigh. Dismiss him or at the very least overturn the ruling.)
This is why I don't watch the news.
