It's odd with so many television series on, many of which are critically acclaimed, I have little to no interest in watching television. Still have the equivalent of 44 hours saved to my DVR. All of Game of Thrones, the Night Manager, Marve: Agents of Shield, the last 3 episodes of the Magicians, All the Way, The Dresser, Roots, Far From the Maddening Crowd, Olive Kitteridge, the pilot episode of Preacher...and there are new shows premiering soon, not to mention netflix and amazon streaming.

But alas, I feel no real compulsion to watch them. I could stream the Americans on Amazon, the Blacklist on Netflix, etc. But my mind wanders.

I write of this, because I received the most recent Entertainment Weekly mag, which for some reason or other felt the need to give what amounted to an advertising special edition on television series that I should nominate for Emmys. I don't work in television and don't qualify as an Emmy voter (happy about that). Personally, I've never understood how people can possibly choose the best television series in this day and age. Maybe in the 1950s through 1990s, but not now, when there are over 1000 television series produced and distributed. I lose track of them. There are television shows I've never heard of, one's I fully intended to watch but forgot about, or only saved half the episodes, the others got deleted by mistake, or just never got around to taping or watching.

Thinking of unsubscribing to EW, because I'm having difficulties relating to 98% of its content which is directed at a younger demographic. The magazine makes me feel old, out-of-sync, and irritated.

Sleepy day all in all. Not much to say. Just want to curl up and nap. And maybe read a book. Wile away the day...doing nothing. Or next to nothing.
