1. From SmartBitches: Please, please get help if you’re feeling more pain than you know what to do with. In the US, you can text HOME to 741741 to connect with a trained counselor. The National Suicide Prevention Hotline is at 1-800-273-8255.

In Australia, you can contact Lifeline on 13 11 14, Suicide Call Back Service on 1300 659 467
and Beyond Blue on 1300 22 46 36. In the UK there are several options, including Samaritans at 116 223. And there is a list on Wikipedia of hotlines by nation.

Do not get help via social media, the internet and if you are depressed try to get off of it and take a walk or something. Social media is the worst thing for depression -- it often makes it worse, not better. Nothing makes me more depressed than scrolling through FB and Twitter. DW isn't as bad.

Actually what has been helping me? Is Mindfulness Headspace APP for meditation, it's showing me how to let go of thoughts and not let them take over. To live in the moment.

2. Tired long week. Lord and Taylor is closing it's flagship store in NYC next year. Dang it. It's my go-to store for clothes. Has been for twenty years. E-commerce is shutting it down. They sold the store to We Work.

And Anthony Bourdain comitted suicide. Right after Kate Spade. Apparently more people in the US die from suicide than car accidents. Not surprised.

I remember reading Kitchen Confidential in the late 1990s early 00s after I first moved to NYC. I think I read it for a book club I was in at the time. I was in my early thirties. Bourdain was about ten years older than me.

Even saw part of the series starring Bradley Cooper and Nick Brendan.
